It is crazy buts its more than a medium spec spyder. It has full GT4 drivetrain, brakes, suspension....
Someone loved the 987 enough to do all that. Very cool but they spent a fortune doing it.

I can't be the only one to give the previous owner kudos for doing that. Definitely not what I would do to mine, but I respect the effort. Now, someone has to go check this thing out and drive it! And post a video.

That's interesting info. Thanks for crunching the numbers!

I'd take the shorter wheelbase. 2.5" is pretty significant for wheelbase. Much more of an agile and 'toss-able' feel to the 987 ...more of a difference maker than the steering everyone focuses on.

They list “GT4 transmission” as if that’s a good thing…

Seems like a great price though considering all the options and mileage.
Agreed, seems like a good deal in today’s market.

Yeah definitely not PCCBs.

Other than the one BaT anomaly that went over $110k, it seems like the hype about the market for these cars is just that. Plenty selling for solid numbers but nothing to write home about, it seems. As always it’s just a matter of who is the room at a given time. Will be interesting to see what Spring brings.

I'd say that a "plain" R with PDK, sofas, and average miles going for $74,550 (after premium) is fairly strong. LWBs and a manual would/could add another $10k-$20k.

For an R or Spyder I'm guessing a bare options list is what someone would want. Bare options means bucket seats, Spyder wheels in silver, manual gear box. That would be an awesome spec!

For max $$$ I'd imaging the golden spec would be:

- manual
- buckets
- extended leather
- standard Spyder wheels
- PCCB
- a good PTS colour
- lightweight battery
- AC and radio delete

Basically every option that leads to weight loss checked. Not sure if PSE would be a benefit or not. On the one hand it's more weight and complexity, on the other the stock exhaust has next to no sound. If it was me I'd want the spec above and then get a second R 3" exhaust Carnewal modded and keep the stock one.

The $111k Spyder that sold in 2021 had LWB, manual, PCCB, Sports Chrono, and most importantly, low miles (<5k).

Looking at the highest priced Cayman R in 2021, it had sofas and PDK, but again, low miles (6k).

If we are to see more six figure Spyders and CR's, it will have to be low mileage and low optioned (good point, KrisA) examples, but emphasis on low mileage.

Good point about the premium. I always forget to factor that in (including when I bought mine off bat).
