992 Carrera T Club
UPDATED! Delivery info and 2023 review below
Delivery day has come and gone, 924 days and 15,000+ posts since I started this thread on January 1, 2021. Instead of pictures, my incredible Porsche Brand Ambassador, Alexander de Pooter, has made a stunning video showing my final spec:
One word summary of what I am about to write: Superb
Yes, the wait was long, perhaps even agonizing. Before I even started this thread, I had reached out to every dealership that I had a relationship with, or had interacted with at some point in the past (this is my 4th Porsche). In fact, I even left a deposit at another Porsche dealer, whose name shall be withheld. Everyone placed me on that "list", with varying estimates as, of course, the car hadn't even been announced yet! However... this is my second Porsche from Porsche West Palm Beach, and the treatment from them was world class.
Almost exactly on New Years 2023, Alexander contacted me to let me know I had an allocation, and it was now time to design and spec my dream. Below, I have the original post from 2021, and you can see that I adhered very closely to my original concept. I did end up adding 18-Way seats and Guards Red seatbelts, as Bose was not available, nor the Premium Package
Mind you, NO deposit was requested by Porsche WPB until this allocation, which is how I much prefer to do business. As I mentioned before, I'm not new to the Porsche world, but the genuineness, attention and respect that Alexander showed throughout was incredible. There's a reason I have mentioned his name and even linked his email above, he deserves every bit of business that we can send his way. I'll give a brief example: That dealer has two "delivery bays", and whilst my 992T was parked there and he was giving me his undivided attention, 4 other cars were delivered in the other bays. Not to speak poorly of the other BAs, but that was basically a smile and a handshake! I'm fairly young and quite experienced with technology, but I really appreciated the time he took to explain some of the more esoteric options buried in the PCM (which is quite good, by the way!).
In short, I love my Carrera T - it was worth every minute of waiting, and I've already done about 150 miles in less than 24 hours, with more to come (for reference, my 991.1 was traded in with 105k miles!). Obviously, Bose had a stop sale, but with the windows closed it's not a horrendous sound system. This will be my keeper and daily driver, at some point I'll add back a Panamera 4S to my garage but this maximizes ALL the smiles per mile!
If you want the wheel center caps that most closely match the Titanium Gray color of the 911 T wheels, as shown in the video, then use the 991.1 Carrera Classic center caps from your favorite Porsche parts vendor.
Below is my original post, but now updated to show ACTUAL specs rather than a projection. Pricing has been removed as that fluctuates.
Happy 2021! I wanted to start a discussion on the potential upcoming 992 Carrera T, likely a 2022 or 2023 model based on past iterations.
Overview
August Achleitner (chief engineer for the 911) has already intimated that it would return, as mentioned in many publications: Interview - R&T. I did some brief research, using the 2018 Carrera T as my estimate for the new pricing and specs. Given the imminent launch of the GT3, and the GTS in late testing, then the most likely timing is that of a 2023 model (i.e. announced in about a year).

Thoughts
I have a manual 991.1 MT C2 at the moment, and this is the model I am waiting for to trade in my 911. The primary reasons for this are the manual transmission in the base, which frees up funds to go towards other options that I prefer. The Carrera T offers exactly the options that I would spec, including the Manual Transmission, Sports Exhaust, PASM, Sport Chrono (which is now tied into the manual transmission anyway).
Here's a bit of heresy from me, as I do know the "T" is intended to be the lightweight, no-frills version that is more of a "purist" car. I am actually going to spec it out as a year-round daily driver (FL), with some options that would increase weight and cost. However, the savings from doing this to a "T" over an "S" are substantial. Here's my rough option package, in addition to the standard goodies in the "T":

However, the base price of the 911 went from $91,100 to $99,200, so roughly 8.9% increase. The Carrera T in 2018 was $103,150, so a 13.2% increase over base. That gives us two possible ways of computing the new 992 T base price:
Model 1 (8.9% Increase from 911.2 to 992 gen): $112,330
Model 2 (13.2% Increase from base 911 price): $112, 295
These both line up, but again, are just a projection. From a sanity check perspective, the 2021 Carrera S is $115,100, and traditionally the Carrera T is just under the C2S pricing.

Until it’s confirmed, I would not consider a 992 Carrera T to be a certainty.
The 992 is hot and supply continues to be limited into the second model year. It won’t be long before RennLister’s start talking about 2022 allocations. With all of this demand, I don’t see a manual transmission coming to the Base engine anytime soon, because the market has shown that people will pay the S premium for a manual in the US. Of course, that’s not even considering the emissions considerations around limiting the number of manual transmission P cars produced.
With everything the OP has put on their option list and their desire for regular handles, the answer is a C2S.

I guess that time will tell, but I think that a T makes a lot more sense now than it did with the 991. A manual was available across the 991 range at least below the turbo. With the manual being limited now, and the 992 edging closer to a grand touring configuration, I think there is a big opportunity for a purer, more raw, simpler version. The T would fill that void perfectly and I’d expect there to be more demand for it than there was for the 991T.

They should do a throwback cabin option and go back to analog dials + allow a PCM delete. #lightweightracecar

I guess that time will tell, but I think that a T makes a lot more sense now than it did with the 991. A manual was available across the 991 range at least below the turbo. With the manual being limited now, and the 992 edging closer to a grand touring configuration, I think there is a big opportunity for a purer, more raw, simpler version. The T would fill that void perfectly and I’d expect there to be more demand for it than there was for the 991T.

We’re in a very different supply and demand environment than when the last T was introduced. I wouldn’t assume you can extrapolate off that.

Gotta love Porsche, very smart and a little devious at the same time. ALL the reviews I’ve seen on the base 992 Carrera have stated how good that car is and no need for the “S” but sadly is not offered with a manual trans. Then Porsche says here you go enthusiasts with an upcharge Lol.

2. the RS carbon fiber hood.
that’s about the only way I could justify the swap. I just love the T.
