I personally don't see the value in the 350R any longer... the steal of the century is a 2017 GT350, they now all come standard with same suspension (Track Pack) you can get the convenience/electronics package on both... and the standard 350 has back seats to boot!

If you want to pay $20 or $30K more for a wing, and carbon fiber wheels, that's cool... but as long as you get a 2017 GT350... there isn't going to be any performance advantages (imo).

Now, the 2016 and older ones... yes.. definitely need the GT350R.

Best Regards,
Dave

help me understand, why do some think a 350R is more soulful and more fun than a ZL1 1LE which is more powerful and handles better and on paper at least is the most hardcore is this a 911R vs GT3RS discussion

I think it's more about a Turbo S vs GT3...

One is N/A, and the other Forced Induction...

Yet to be seen if the ZL1 1LE can handle the non stop lapping that the GT350/R have been able to demonstrate.

Dave

I found a brand new 2017 Corvette GrandSport sitting on dealer lot near New Orleans in the exact spec and color I had been searching - priced at 65k..

The GT350 was epic, I put nearly 20,000 miles on that glorious motor and drove the hell out of it both on and off the track. I typically switch out one of my cars every 2 or 3 years.

The value is certainly there as long as you don't pay a huge mark-up. Yes, the GT350 is a great deal - but as with everything, there is diminishing value for the next increment of performance. If there was always an obvious best value that everyone agreed with - then every manufacturer would only sell one model of car.

Congrats on the C7 GS, that's a sweet car! But this thread has now lost its biggest fan and will never be the same. LOL

My new GT350R. Arrived last week. Won't be taking it to the track until October so in the mean time I put some street wheels and tires on. Now to work on my Heel Toe!
I think it will be a kick going back and forth between the GT3 and the GT350R at the track.

Congrats! Your R looks like it's sitting a little high. You may want to check to see if the shipping spacers in the springs have been removed. Somewhat common dealership prep oversight.

The base '17 is mechanically identical to the '15/16 Track Pack GT350 and has all the track durability items. Only if you want the fancy electronics is a '17 required.

Picked mine up a few weeks ago. Love it so far. Only thing is a dash rattle somewhere I can't find. I can just see the service guys joy riding my car trying to find that...

Btw, I pulled 1.5g's on an on-ramp in this car the other day. Hit a bump mid-way through and thought it was going to get loose on me, but it was very well behaved. Pretty impressive grip from those cup2's, and that is the most well behaved mustang I've driven by far.

Ok, I'll check it out. I told the out of state dealer that I purchased from 3 times to check that they were removed. They confirmed that they were but you know how that stuff can go. Thanks
