Your car will end up on this forum and we will all see it and opinions will be posted. Please do a good job on your presentation. I would be happy to get on BAT and bash your car, but the truth is I would rather see you trying to sell it and have someone get a great 928.
Don't be the guy asking to much for a car that's has no maintenance.

Yeah you got me completely misread. I love 928s. Feel free to read through ALL my comments on 928s over there. 99% are either praising the car or defending disparaging comments some uninformed BaT'er has made. I want to see every car go for it's maximum money. It helps all of us in the long run. If you call disliking aftermarket steering wheels, radios, and wheels "bad mouthing" then so be it. I am on record many times on disliking those items. But that's just my opinion and I'll stand behind it every time. I don't need to make a bid to have it. And besides if you noticed I didn't make the statement over at BaT that I did here. I'm sorry but pointing out that the interior condition is tired (it is and the listing says as much) and a missing radio and aftermarket wheels (which other commenters pointed out as not liking... I did not) and my guess at a good price to Rennlist users and members is in no universe a knock on this car.

Personally GT6ixer has a good opinion and it should be considered as constructive criticism.

^^^^ This. Nate's (GT6ixer) comments do more to enhance a value there than do many other things. People know or at least can tell that he knows these cars, and the good ones get high praise, which raises the bar. He knows what he is talking about and has no dog in the hunt. He, like many who post in this thread, has a keen eye and can spot things a less educated buyer should know.

Again, like others, I would like to defend Nate (not that he needs it) regarding his comments here on Rennlist regarding that particular car on BaT. He only pointed out some of the undesirable traits of that car here, where Nate is a paid member whereas Weissach you're not. He has the right to express his opinions (correct ones that I agree with) here, and he never made a disparaging comment on BaT without due reason.

I had never bid on any BaT cars too, but I feel that during the past few years of buying 928, I had learnt a little regarding the model and able to give some opinions on them on BaT. Except for a few instances, I find my opinions on cars for sale are generally within the ballpark. Number of bids don't mean nothing as they say when the bids are fake ones without intent of them ever being winning bids.

Anyway, Weissach, I had sold 2 cars on BaT, and even though 1 was almost perfect (Weissach #155) and the other not so much (to put it lightly), as long as I presented them as honestly as I can, I have nothing to hide and feel confident with them going in front of the peanut gallery. Nate and others Rennlist members provided support for my cars during auction and did nothing but provided confidence for the bidders.

As a word of advice, when your cars are on BaT, be online everyday and answer questions as clearly and as honestly as you can. We here will support you, because we don't want our cars to viewed badly too and be categorized together with poorly presented samples.

I have always found the Rennlist members here are extremely supportive and they are actually assets instead of distractors there on BaT.

Good luck with your auction, Weissach! I will be watching-Hoi

Somebody check this out quick! Value is there if the engine is not blown.

Sports seats (look at the bolsters)

I agree! Wow that's a heck of a price if the rest of the car checks out. Those seats look brand new. Can't imagine this one will last long.

Your nasty comments aren't welcome!

How do you know how long this car will last? I'm sure someone will be able to drive this car for a long long time!

Damn "tire kicker"!!

Here's how to do a listing. Anyone know this car? Looks like a very nice example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1986-Porsche...RZUtOQ&vxp=mtr

My previous was an 86.5 iris blue metallic over blue interior. Great color combo. Wish there were more pictures though. May be he really does not want to sell it!

So if I understand what you are thinking, you'd prefer that people not point out the negatives on a car you are selling, or that you are afraid that will happen. If so, then I'd suggest not putting your cars on BaT. Ebay might be more your style.

If I were a buyer I'd prefer to know what I'm buying and having knowledgeable people looking at it first would be a huge benefit.

Kudos to those of your scouring the 'net and bringing these beauties to us. I recently sold a 66 Mustang on BAT and with the proceeds I would like to get a 928. I need to put something back in the garage before the wife thinks she can park there.

Is a decent 928 with a working AC for around 6k realistic? From looking through these threads I think its possible and I can turn a wrench (to an extent).

Does anyone know this car in Marble Falls, TX? Only two pics, and very short on details

Don't think I've seen that one before and it's right where we have 3rd Coast.

Comments are always welcomed, I'm sure everyone can agree on that. The issue that so many have is with the tire kickers hiding behind a screen, bad mouthing cars they can't or won't buy. Any resonable person 'gets' this.

This is why you're unlikely to see any educated sellers selling premium cars on that site. It brings out all the Craigslist-type buyers, this is unlikely to change anytime soon unless they clean up that site.

I disagree. The collectors are buying cars on BaT and my weissach #155 was bought by a German collector and my '89 S4 was bought by an American car collector who wanted to start venturing out to Porsche 928s.

The collective comments there can better inform potential buyers and increase confidence. Btw, I'm a craigslist buyer!

We are having a long discussion here is purely bc we felt that Nate's comments here on Rennlist about that car was never inflammatory and your comments were pretty heavy handed without having had read Nate's comments there accusing him of being adversarial.

Anyway, we will be watching your car wherever they may end up for sale! Can't wait.
