38th ever built? That must be worth more sleuthing right there?
Number 16 for the US... not sure on the entire production run including ROW... I seem to remember folks talking about US production starting about 100 in after the Euros started.. but not sure.. It's in the registry now..

Wonder who got it... could be a nice one if it's true to the pics/description
Cheers for that, cool to see it in the registry, I imagine it's all genuine then? I am a little surprised at the seeming inattention it has received here though? I would have thought such a low production number ought to have garnered much more interest.
Someone here for sure ALMOST got it! I was the first one to call the guy (<1 hr after posting it), and he sounded legit in owning the car for ~12 years, but he doesn't really know much about the car. He wasn't sure if he has the service records or when the last major service was done, even though he mentioned it on the ad. The pictures were a few years old.
However, I was still very interested and asked him if I can give him a deposit immediately if he can send me a pic of the car in real time. He told me he will get back to me, but after waited for an hour or 2, I called back and he told me someone showed up and gave him a cash deposit and he's waiting for the wire transfer.
Oh well, felt sh!tty about it since he told me he's getting me info so I can make the deposit, then sold his car while I waited. Cash always win.
Buyer must be local and I think most likely a dealer. Wait for the flip, it will come back out of the shadows. I also hope another Rennlister has it.

It will be interesting to see were it shows up. Probably a dealer in Denver. There won't be much interest in Pueblo. I will keep an eye out for it and try to take a look. The interest in these cars around here is low, so there still may be hope to get a decent deal.

I figured you would be all over it Hoi! I contacted the guy also but said it was sold. I was struggling with buying it seeing that I just picked up a 79 euro a couple of months ago. My shop is starting to get a bit full.
Anytime you want to unload the '79 euro petrol/cork over to me, I will be ready . Want to make a quick buck?

Just put an offer in on an 87 S4 with 40K miles (really nice). I really don't want to sell this one as I have put a ton of love into it. I just don't have the space for two. Prices seem to be all over the MAP and not really sure where to be. Here is a link. Let me know what you guys think. If anyone here is interested I would be open to serious offers.
based on condition of car above one would think the emergency spare tire cover would be toast
I was amazed too and too stunned to offer him $50 for that cover. Told him instead to keep that in a good place (not in the car) and he then thanked me for the recommendation and threw it back in the trunk.
