Hi G, I'm one of the guys from New Zealand that bought a set. Just wanted to say thanks/happy. Can't drive anywhere currently - have just had a 7.8 earthquake & roads all munted/ closed. Simply nowhere to go.
Cheers - David
I lived in Socal for 16 years and though I missed the 96 6.4 Northridge quake which caused huge damage by a couple of months, even 'small' quakes are pretty alarming. I saw the pictures of the sea floor from NZ that had been pushed up 2 meters. Absolutely stunning. I hope everything there gets back to normal as soon as possible.
Anyway, glad you like the pieces. I made them for myself but as it turns out, Porsche made a ***** of that design for everybody

Yes, once you have the original washers that went with them as they have a shaped head which will damage/deflect the plate if used without them.
If you have to replace them, either look for something similar OR get a flat backed screw and a black washer to spread the load. I designed the pieces to be a little thicker there as well to soak up the stresses.
While the screws around the door each have protective washers, to my knowledge the pivotal screw that secures the door pocket does not have a washer. The screw itself has a flat head. See #16 in attached illustration.
