I reinstalled the glove box door.

Now, I know that doesn't sound like much, and I guess it isn't, but that stupid door has been off for better than a year. I took it off last year before Frenzy to do some work under the dash and I lost the latch receiver. Pete gave me one at Frenzy last year, but after I got back I took the dash apart again. Just now putting the dash (slowly) back together while I figure out the center console and wait for a GPS speedometer in the mail, and I decided to go ahead and put the door back on. Now it latches and everything!

Of course, the glove box bulb is only getting .3 volts, so the light isn't coming on, but there's a door there!

Sometimes it's the little things...

You did check that this panel is the exact same model year and number as yours? between years these fuse blocks are not always compatible.

Drove it, let my wife drive it, took my kids while I drove it, took my nephew and brother-in-law while I drove it, let my sister-in-law drive it and drove it back to the garage.

Everyone loved it, everyone asked "is it going to breakdown on the trip" which let me grin like an idiot after it didn't (this is the first time they've all driven it, and they all saw it torn up over the last ~9 months), and my nephew nearly fell asleep at a point because the seats are so comfy.

It's really nice when you actually drive the car versus only working on it.

New windshield from Porsche, new stickers from Roger for the CSF radiator I put in a while ago. Spiffing up the engine bay in preparation for Werks in Carmel.

I replaced all the fuses with new, and retorqued the wheels,....
(it was too hot to wash it, plus it looks cool when the neighbors see me working on my 928, I think),

Changed the oil and filter using Brad Penn 20w50. 2000 miles after reassembling the head and getting the engine back in and it didn't use a drop of oil which is a huge change since it always used at least a quart per 1K due to severely worn valve guides and seals.

Put back the maintainer on it.

Didn't have the chance to drive it - again - this weekend.

Always busy this summer...

Can't wait for Frenzy...

Default Clamp walk and crank end play

I pulled the access cover to the flywheel, loosened the clamp (3mm preload) and checked the end play on the crank. Turned out to be .007" or .178mm (WSM says "Play of new bearings .110mm to .312mm, wear limit .400mm"). Was pleased to find that out after finding flywheel preloaded 3mm. Blue Loctite on the clamp bolt and torqued to 66 ft-lb. Will be replacing with Constantine's Super Clamp this winter. (Sorry about the pictures, getting new camera.)

Installed a new front engine harness from 928Docs (SeanR) on my GTS. What a beautiful piece of work it is!!! Everything fits, is correctly color coded and new and improved materials are used to prevent degradation.

Thanks Sean!!!
