Subscribed. Like some here I've been on a list since 2015, hoping this round of allocations comes through.
Also getting fed up and considering the AMG GTR. Going to track the GT-S version next week for 5 hot laps. Will see what I think. If Porsche won't take my money, there are lots of other options out there.

car magazine's june comparo of the gtr/gt3 had them in a dead heat. both are excellent.
I'm a bit envious of those of you with backup plans, whether it's McLaren or an AMG GT or otherwise.
For me, it's literally GT3 or bust. There's nothing else out there that even tempts me to spend this sort of money. I'd rather keep driving my manual Boxster GTS.
I don't want forced induction. I don't want an automatic. I want an engine that revs to the moon. I want 500 hp. I want a Porsche.

Ugh. My first world problems run deep.
This site is the cause of our anxiety.. lol
We'll all know soon enough... I know that I want some american muscle next, and those new GS vettes with big discounts are mighty tempting.

Report back on the experience. I was thinking about signing up for AMG Academy where you get time driving a GTR. couldn't care less about the other cars. But can't bring myself to pay for that likely also because I'd really rather have the GT3.
I emailed MB about a chance to drive one and they suggest the Academy or local dealer to see if they will have an event.

I still struggle to come up with what would be the GT3s equal or close at similar price. Overall car. GTR is it I think. McLaren sounds amazing from all the vids and things I read about it, however above my budget. As well some reliability concerns seem to be out there.

LOL! The GTR is the opposite of everything I want. All wheel drive, turbo, automatic...
