Any Rennlisters from New Zealand?

Do any of you guys know much of the history of this car? http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used...-749591741.htm It's an Auckland car that's been at the occasional Hampton Downs track days.
Price points - Higher mileage tip without fastidious maintenance etc would be sub $50,000. A no stories minter might push mid 60's but the upper level is dictated by 997TT prices, where I think a contributor here bought at low end of $80,000.
Things to look out for in a manual would be over-revs and jumping out of 2nd gear.
All in all, great performance and engines, but quality of build not as high as the older cars and age can bring minor ancillary faults e.g. Door micro switches.

Buy on condition as it's a 13 year old car.

In the unlikely event that this interests you to join in, just wanted to say that Dave, Doug and I will meet at Sylvia Park tomorrow morning at 8:00 am to drive to Hampton Downs in a small convoy. Black Beauty and the 964 beasts.

+1 I suspect a glass out respray would be the end of road trips for either of my older cars but yours is different, it's akin to a new car that needs to be used. If it isn't then you'll listen to Herman going past your place every weekend! Btw Herman wasn't fazed by the rain today. Still a DD, albeit Air Con would be good to demist.

Totally agree with Doug.
Youve been talking about removing that air con for the 18 months youve had the car and it has been non-functional the whole time. For a few hundred bucks you could maybe could have had it working and stayed cool while talking about taking it out LOL!
Cant be more than 2-3 hours work to rip the compressor and fittings out the engine bay where the weight is best saved. Shame you dint have the compressor brace/bracket removed when the engine was dropped as that's a big chunk of alloy. Dont bother removing the evaporator its too expensive to do unless you DIY it...

Would be a right PITA to reinstall in 18 months time when sick of being hot, or all fogged up so maybe best left there. You can always put your spare wheel in Lola if you need to even things up a bit ;-P

All good Dougie - only 14kg on me tomorrow. If I wait long enough for my go You and Dave will have used that much gas in BB. Meanwhile I'll be keeping Paul honest with 4wd.

2WD quicker than 4WD at gymkhana surely.

Not sure on the Gymkhana. Clive does well and I think he has a C4S. Secret last year seemed to be rotation and judicious use of power. It also helped if you remembered the pattern.
+1 and just rip out the heater fan already.

Ready to take BB to HD. So preserve her at 7/10 ths and get used to it or go 10/10 from the get go? Feel like should take it easy and get accustomed to the driving dynamics. Might be a bugger having the AIM onboard tho. What to do?

Simple. Leave the aim on board - these count as your official laps for the leader board. If you drive it you record it and it goes down as your time. Only fair. Other owners will get no practice with the car - it will be get in - six laps - get out. If you don't want these as your official leaderboard time today don't drive it?
