Kai, I know for a fact that a) it's easy to critique/judge/assign blame from far away and from the pit wall and b) the accuracy of rumors never begins very well and goes down with every retelling and c) PCA Club Racing driver behavior is NOT supposed to mimic Friday night circle track antics. I can tell you that I had four cameras running in one of the cars and the behavior of one of the drivers is unacceptable, even for pro racing. Per previous Rennlist threads, I will not be posting or sharing any of these.
With challenging weather conditions and between fifteen and twenty percent of the cars suffering damage this past weekend, several in the same way as the 69 car yet without penalty, the message is not getting through. I appreciate the actions of the stewards and David Murry's valuable advice at the drivers meeting called afterwards, but for whatever reason, people are not driving smart not leaving enough margin to insure damage free racing...
Instead of assigning the judgement of asshattery from afar, I urge you to extend good old Christian charity to those folks who suffered plenty on their own, not the least of which, their pocketbooks. It could have been any of us, perhaps you?

Hamlin is the one who should have punched Logano.

I also believe valid points have been made here and in other threads regarding the slow pace of the lead lap - and the fact that more than one is beneficial under these conditions.

Logano is a punk. Remember when he wrecked the Whelen Corvette in practice for the 6 hours at the Glen? Then he was punkish enough to bitch that the back up car wasn't good enough. Fvkn punk. Don't wreck the primary car in practice then.

Sadly, I disagree. Powerful car, aggressive driver on cold tires on a slick track - preventable and unnecessary.

Powerful cars and aggressive driving are what the sport of racing is all about. I don't disagree that the conditions were a factor but if it were you and the green flag dropped would you have hit the gas or pulled over?

If I were outside pole, I would want to beat the pole sitter to T1...

This situation doesn't seem to be one of bafoonary. Had he made a bad move in a passing situation or some other low percentage move I might look at this differently. In this case he hit a damp spot. Anyone anytime.
Just my opinion

Streak,
There is always an excuse, it seems. This is the "pass" I am talking about. It's not like the track being wet in some places was a surprise. The horsepower of the car was not a surprise. The cold tires was not a surprise.
The question stands: What is the problem here? Are people being too aggressive or are they in over their heads?
Scott
