That was fun, but I needed more practice with that car since I have not run it in some time. Tough to keep it on the track.

The start was clean, Andy got loose in T1 and we all got by fine. I came into T5 too hot and moved to P2 but slowed to give back an unearned (dive-bomb) pass. Went around another lap in 3rd, braked for T5 and out of nowhere I feel the impact and see a car go over my head. Car was destroyed, waited for a minute in the pits and lost whatever concentration I had, after looping it a few times I quit. Nice to see over 10 guys running though!

the car that went over your head was mine

oops.

that setup is better than most SRF sets but it's still a tricky car to drive fast.

I bailed after going a lap down in the pits and did an Indycar oval fixed race. I love that series!

btw, nice to see some new guys in the league. welcome, and you're not officially part of the gang until I've run into you!

I basically had the same problem. I held back at the first turn, and I was slotted behind Vito. I felt like I was a little faster, but it is very very hard to pass in these things and I went way to hot into that downhill section after turn 2 and crunched the car. Next week!

No worries Guy, i'd rather have it happen in iRacing than at the PCA Club Race! I think the "trick" to driving the SRF relatively quick (in iRacing) is to keep the car balanced with left foot braking. I can keep my throttle planted from T3 on and just LFB into T4 and she stays stable. If I try and balance the car with just my right foot it's a lot more squirrley. In my 911 a light lift settles the car so it isn't all that different. I'm just sorry Andy J. lost it so early as he is a force to be reckoned with it seems!

I had a moment coming out of 4 and by the time I got the car settled I missed my brake marker big time. by probably 5 or 6 car lengths

any recommendations on next week's race?

I never did, but I will probably be out there within calendar 2012 at some point for depositions. We and cxc will need to get up at that point.

The RL Rookies are mostly new and as you guys put up a race using the standard tracks tonight it seemed like a good idea to join up as the more the merrier. Our next race was going to be WGI (full w/chicane), I like the DP car there and I don't think many would object to that. Fixed setup keeps it simple as one persons hot setup may be nasty to another.. Just my $.02
