I have a street only 99 996 and it's blazingly fast, no wonder I have them flying by me when they run H in PCA and run at a similar weight as my 968 with 100 hp more.

After this season, I'm sure PCA will look at how the cars run, and adjust weights if needed.

The cars are a blast to drive. Faster than a SpecBox, cheaper than a Cup Car... Come over to the dark side. Resistance is futile...

So is Getty the sole source supplier? Good to be Getty.

Just curious - in the Spec996 rules (section 6. A. m.) one is allowed to cut out a section of the rear bumper - what does this accomplish?

2000 has eGas, but no cutout on left foot braking. Not sure about the later models.

Yes Getty is the sole source. JRZ is sole source for shocks, Tarrett for camber plates, etc SpecBox has similar sole source vendors for certain parts. The idea is to keep the cars as similar as possible, and to keep costs under control. If you open up all the various options, you'll end up eventually with a spending war as folks shop for the ultimate combination of "stuff". For example, if you open up the wing, people will looks for the best aero and the lowest weight. Even with a car weight limit, you could for example put a CF wing on leave more weight in the body, and get a car with a lower center of gravity.
