Best qualifying of the year. Hulkenberg had it already with a half second margin and then he topped even that on the last lap... A full second ahead of the pack, THAT is a drive! It is always so enjoyable to watch a new guy's breakthrough.
This should make his place at Williams secure, I would think.

Hulkenberg will be picked up by just the other top 4 guys by the end of 1st lap, unless ofcourse there is mayhem between Webber and Vettel. Vettel is on the dirty side and I can see him not wanting to concede to Webber. Alonso has to duck behind Webber and pray he comes out clean after the 1st turn. I hate that the 1st turn is so close from the start/finish line.
Should make for an interesting race. I don't think we have seen some car's true potential today. Can't wait for the race.

shows you what we all know!
Well done Nico H.
As for the top 5 well:
Buttons done and probably cannot help Hammy
Massa barely squeeked into Q3............can he help FA?...........doubt it
I'm hoping that with Hammy and Vetttel on the 'dirty' side of the grid both Webber and FA pass into turn 1 and then let the battle royal begin.

I'd say that we just saw what he can do in a good car. Question is "how far can he go in a great car?"

Problem with this circuit is that the main run is too short past the start/finish. Not sure if clean/dirty side will play as much of a role. Also, since after the 1st turn, the next turn is a right hander, it might not be so bad to be on the outside/dirty line going in.

If Webber passes Seb into turn one then the game plan is set............if not then we all know for absolute surity what RB think of their drivers.
I agree the run up to T1 is short and in the past we've seen all sorts of interesting passes from both sides of the track..............man, dont you just love F1.............this is exciting

I am just hoping that there are no accidents on the 1st turn. Would hate to see the championship decided by some dumb move.

I've got a feeling the Hulk was running high downforce because he was just TOO fast in tricky conditions when everyone else was set up for dry conditions. Look for the Bulls to run past -- if Webber can get a good start. I think Hulkenberg is going to be P3 by lap 2 and P8 by the end of the race.

He'll be lucky to finish in the top ten.
Should be a good race.

Button uninjured in armed São Paulo car attack
7 November 2010
World Champion Jenson Button has escaped unscathed after armed attackers approached the road vehicle carrying the McLaren driver plus his father, manager and physiotherapist upon leaving the Interlagos circuit on Saturday evening.
A McLaren press release reads as follows:
‘On Saturday evening (November 6) on the way back from the Interlagos circuit to Morumbi (São Paulo), armed would-be assailants made an attempt to approach the car that was carrying Jenson Button.
Neither Jenson nor the other occupants of the car were hurt. (The other occupants were John Button [Jenson’s father], Mike Collier [Jenson’s physio] and Richard Goddard [Jenson’s manager].)
Vodafone McLaren Mercedes had provided both Jenson and team-mate Lewis Hamilton with reinforced armoured vehicles driven by police drivers, who had been trained in avoidance techniques and were armed.
The police driver of Jenson’s vehicle reacted swiftly and, using avoidance techniques, rapidly forced his way through the traffic, taking Jenson and the other occupants of the car immediately away from any danger and back to their hotel.
The São Paulo authorities have also acted efficiently and will be providing additional security to transfer Jenson and other senior Vodafone McLaren Mercedes personnel to the Interlagos circuit for Sunday's Brazilian Grand Prix.’
Update:
According to The Daily Mail, six men armed with machine guns targeted the vehicle, with Button's driver then making contact with several other road vehicles in the consequential escape.
"My driver bounced off about five cars," Button told the newspaper. "We were driving over the top of them.
"'We were going back from the track and were outside a shanty town and moving slowly on a busy road. I saw a dog come out. It was very cute.
"The next thing I saw was a man with a gun. Our guy angled the car and floored it. That's when we saw six men, all of them brandishing machine-guns.
"My driver was a legend. It was very scary. I don't know whether they knew who it was they were ambushing.
"I said, "Isn't that a gun?" and as soon as I said that the driver angled the car. I am glad I didn't have my girlfriend Jessica with me – she would have been terrified."
