2010 Brazilian Grand Prix

Brasil is still one of those types of countries. I don't care how much oil they have, they're still backwards in a lot of ways. Extreme poverty on one end of the social order.
It says something when the drivers have to be transported in armored vehicles. I remember going to an F1 race at Indy and Jacque Villenueve coming out of paddock area right in front of me and getting into a white Honda Accord and driving off. Coulthard walking among the fans after qualifying and later that night having dinner next to the table hosted by Toyota with one of their drivers there. Obviously they feel safe here in the US....

Almost everybody is a target in places like Sao Paolo. Even Shirley Temple.

That's why most well to do individuals in São Paolo use helicopters to get around the city.
These are some of the issues (traffic and security) facing a Megalopolis with a population of 20 Million people. Btw that's 1,000,000 more than NYC.

It is. And I am sure you recognize my schnoz and eyes.
In fact, that pic is even on the State Department's DSS photo archive web site.
We used to do all sorts of scenario-based training and force-on-force exercises. This one was (obviously) a hostage situation in a private jet. Shirley Temple Black was at that time (late '80's) a full Ambassador, thanks to Pres. Reagan. She was super-cool, and always volunteered to be the "dignitary at risk" in our training exercises. 100% quality individual, and smart as a whip.

Well, there you have it boys and girls, FA can now cruise to another WDC.
I thought the SC would change the complexity of the race, but obviously didn't.

As a F1 fan the race has set us up for an unbelievable final. For those who have complaints look back a few years when Schumi won the WDC with still half the season to go or Mansell winning the first 7 races in a row and the WDC in Hungary.
Not that I'm a fan but Button coming up from 11th to try and support his teammate was great.
Now that we've seen absolute no orders in RB they now both have to win in the final race and hope Alonso doesn't fair well which all going well will be unlikely. Fernando looks very strong.
Congrats to RB in winning the constructors championship.............not so long ago I remember watching Rubens race for the team when they were then known as Stewart

The difference between this and Alonso's McLaren stint is that Mark Webberperformed.

Coming into the last 5 laps at Abu Dabi...same as yesterday. Vettel in 1st, Webber 2nd, Alonso 3rd. Wonder what the team orders would be then.......

OK, did anyone notice the two pieces of what appeared to be shiny electrician's tape on Vettel's neck when he was initially being questioned during the post race press conference.
what the heck could those be?
Note that you could not see them when the camera switched back to him after they questioned Alonso.

Alonso had them visible briefly as well. I suspect they hold down the earpiece cords and keep them from moving around in high G corners. Either that or they are used for heartbeat & breathing monitors as part of the telemetry.

It would be complete inconceiveable that RB would throw away the WDC for another race win for Vettel.
