I'm told it will be going in this week, I don't know yet when it will be ready for the dyno though. The car will be tuned to give the best drivablilty up to 250whp for GTS3.

Yes, but at what torque level? Remember, if TQ is greater than rwhp, you have to average the two in your calculation.

Understood, 250 is the magic number for the two. The torque must also not be more than 5% greater than the whp. So the whp may well end up less than 250 if the torque is higher. Max power throughout the whole range will be the goal, can't wait to see what the tune brings.

Default data system sensors and display

Some pic's of the data sensors before they are installed. It looks like I could mount the display on the steering wheel, I would have to decide on a wheel that goes with it and has enough room for 3 control buttons one of which is for the radio.

You will see it at NJMP as soon as it opens, I plan to do a few test days there then take it to VIR in April for the David Murry Track Days event. If all goes well it's 1st race will be at WGI in May in with NASA.

LOL! That's funny Steve but I think you may be right, when shall I bring it over?

Both GTS3 and GTS2 is looking like there will be a nice rise in Porsche entrant's in 2011. And there's a ton of events to choose from, 4 alone at VIR my favourite track. The 968 is going into GTS2 at VIR in Febuary and March.

Gary, make sure you have a dynojet dyno cert done for your 968 for the Midatlantic events. VIR has a fulltime dyno active the entire weekend and they check top 5 cars now. NE is starting to do the same. They may actually use GPS accelerometers this year in cars also (rumor at this point).

Thanks for letting me know. Do you know if I can I do the dyno cert at the track on the Friday? I will however try to find a local dynojet by me.

Great attention to detail and lots thought going into this build.

Can't wait to see the final results!

Really love this stuff.

Cheers,

Check with with the race director. They are well organized. I think this year you cannot hand in a dyno unless it is a Dynojet. There have been too many cert dyno runs handed in that were off by 20hp. I volunteered for a dyno pull at Tbolt after out-qualifying the GTS group by 2 seconds and pulled 1hp over and almost 4 on a second run. Total was within the rules (including weight) and they still DQ'd my time starting me 32nd on the grid (finished 2nd with very aggressive driving . My car had been dyno'd 3 times last year all at 254hp. That was just an odd pull and that happens.
