I'll be there, and can't wait (this new track is AWESOME!!!)

The TDI is a lot of fun here - lots of corners where the car can just be tossed in and powered out (though I use the term 'powered' loosely!)

I'll be on practice early, no experience on this track. Hope it likes the VW, as Laguna is a fight with it!

Wow, that was the best race yet! Kevin, Ian, and I raced neck-and-neck for second place over the full 16 laps - halfway through the final lap, there was still no way to tell where we would finish. Kevin drove a solid race on rapidly-deteriorating tires to take second in front of me and Ian (who showed an amazing amount of patience, restraint, and clean driving to hold off on several occasions where he could have easily stuck his car in and made a successful pass on me).

Zandvoort proved to be a great track - lots of fun to drive, and even more fun to race and try to figure out where to go for a pass. So many difficult turns make it tough to be proficient at even half of them, which makes it very likely that two cars turning identical times will be faster and slower in totally different parts of the track. Good stuff!!!

Here's a pic of Kevin leading me and Ian to the line after 16 brutal laps of close racing:

Ugh - what a bad time for a 'mechanical'. We definitely missed you out there.

I'm sure we'll find ourselves back at this track. If nothing else, it looks like the 24HdF series is racing there in the Skip Barber this weekend.

It's a fun track and the TDi raced well there. I had a good battle just bheind those three with Siff until I lifted to avoid him going wide at the one spot where lifting means you go into the wall 9 times out of 10. I need to stop having bad luck in these races. I can go 15 laps in practice without a hiccup but then do something stupid in lap 5 of the race....

Thanks again Kevin for setting up.

and sometimes in lap 1!
I ran a few nasty laps there when I first bought it in the Skippy, it's a really great layout and has a nice short track for slow cars. Bet the 79 F1 car is a terror there..

The Lotus isn't that bad there. Better than I expected. Same with Brands Hatch. Both were pretty fun in the Lotus. Sure there were a few power induced spins but overall it flowed much better than the US tracks.

I can see us in a Lotus 79 race, 6 cars out of 10 lined up in the pits at all times during the race..

The other 4 are limping around the course to get close to the pits...

Yeah, I think that's pretty much how it would go.

I tried the Radical at Zandvoort a bit last night, too, and had a lot of fun with it, as you can feel the speed with it here a lot more than at some other tracks. It was definitely a handful, but a 'controllable' handful (if that makes any sense.)

That was one of the best races I have been a part of at iRacing. White knuckles for the entire race with you on my tail!
