View Poll Results: Who won the debate: MK (HP) or VR (Torque)
Mk won with a simple to understand concept that HP determines torque at the wheels at any speed.

MK won: When comparing equal HP cars, the one with less torque COULD be better on the road course.

VR won: When comparing equal HP cars, the one with more torque is better on a road course.

1) Not sure what this has to do with the HP/Torque debate.
2) Being listed in the results means you were there, driving - unlike most of the rest of the world... IMO, the actual universe of people that get to participate in such events is quite small - despite the skewed percentage we seem to have here in the Racing forum.
Good job VR! Maybe one day, it'll be me too!

I just thought i would post it to post it No reason, why so defensive. you were racing, but not really trying, I get it. If you wanted to you would have beat the entire bunch of them. I get it. Yet, when i have my hand on the gear shifter, because its broken, I lack driving ability, and if we were ever to race, I would get beaten by you due to your signature tag line, etc etc. The point is, Im sure you can drive and so can a lot of guys. You might even be a good instructor, who cares. Is there a point? No, I just want 20 pages.

I am not sure what posting those 2006 results accomplishes except alleviate your insecurities by fooling yourself that you posted my name. I have already acknowledged driving very tentaively in a new-to-me $100,000 car belonging to someone else because I had a difficult time getting the hang of the brakes in hard braking zone. So why bring it up again except to illustrate your small unit complex? Do you think I should be embarassed or something? I am who I am, Mark. I am not a grand overcompensator like you appear to be.
I have no idea what those guys may have been driving at Laguna, Mark, so your self-aggrandizing question is just that (and irrelevant).

I hope you are as blessed with opportunity as I was.
Will you be at MSR next month?
Mark, no, I was trying, but not doing as good a job as others there. And no, I could not have beaten all of them, but perhaps, with some more seat time, some more of them.

Like I said, it was only in response to some digs VR posted. Hey, Ive been in 7 WCGT races too, big deal. I did about as well as VR did, with half the car as the field did. Those were however, some of the best experienes ive ever had. We had a little crowd of 4-5 cars in the back of the pack . It was a ton of fun.
amazing the adrenilin rush, on TV and when the lights go out! Just a taste of the Crack-pipe. Lot of fun, but to do well, it takes lots of money!! And sure, Lots of guys could hit the front half of the pack with the right car. To win, takes a little more of everything.

37 to save. My work just gets getting harder.
I would love to hear just one of them pipe in and say why they voted that way. They wont. No one can or will, because there is not really any reason to agree that an engine torque value alone means anything without more information to go along with it.
I already provided the comparison, used the original values set by Dez. the answer is pretty clear ...... For 27, not the 37.

Dave,
After all this bantering. Yes, I get it. I dont know how many races you have done, but Ive done a enough to understand all the factors. Its just when you come from this arrogant position of driving coach, no one can drive but me, position, its rubs some the wrong way. Im sure with seat time in the right car you could be right up there with Clay and Co.!
Relax. Remember, this is just a discussion board. A bar, paddock talk that has been written down for all to see.

misquotes the bible?? I only printed and told an actual account of history. Wasnt my interpretation, it was that of the 17th century. Proof that misinterpretation had to be corrected to fit reality. To bad Galileo had to take so much heat until that happened! Maybe you should take note.
By the way, its not surprising that the ill-informed outweigh the informed. its the way it was and will always be.
I was just trying to do my part.

Good grief, talk about projection...
And FYI, the Bible was written a wee bit before Gallileo's birth.
