Possible Glen 2009 Race Format

Perfect
Gary I like this idea...gives a guy a nice relaxed break for fuel and water and good to go to the finish. Tire management real important, could even change tires if a guy needed or wanted to. Just mtc.

It might be "close" assuming an uninterrupted (viz., no yellows) enduro. Otherwise, it's no problem. At WGI I have never added fuel during the enduro (each was a 90-minute race). I don't have a fuel cell - stock gas tank.
Not sure why Jim Child needed fuel at Mid-Ohio. He might have a fuel cell (rare for a 968) with less capacity than a stock tank; or he might prefer to race with a lighter fuel load (968's are pretty heavy cars); or he might have problems scavaging fuel from his tank when it gets below a certain level (I actually had this problem in my car for a full season - we weren't getting gas on right hand turns, especially uphill righthanders, like turn 7 at WGI); or he might have a broken fuel gauge and adds some fuel just to be sure he's got enough in the tank. Jim's a very good driver and tough to beat at Mid-O, his "home track".
Even if you don't need gas, and you're not changing drivers, it's still nice to have someone in the pits - to take tire pressures, clean the windshield and give you a bottle of water (unless you have a drink bottle in the car, in which case you can skip the bottled water).
Hope to see you at the track this year.

Not all cars can run a full hour on a single tank.. One guy I race with in a 996 TT can barely make the 45 min halfway point in a 90 minute enduro.

My 944 makes it easily 90 minute on a tank. However If running a 90 minute enduro best best is to run lighter and fill up given the 5 min stop. More work, but my car tends torward understeer on a full tank. So adding gas and running lighter would make the car faster.
Now I have 90 minute enduro's with NO required stops. Those are fun. 90 mintues nose to tail with your compeition and not pit stops to break things up.
I also ran a 2 hour enduro were we needed to by rule to add 5 gallons with no time limit. So I ran 90 minutues and then came in added 5 was gone. Stop was about 1-2 mintues using a standard 5 gallon can. That was fun. I was learning Miller Motorsports park and as the enduro went on and the car got lighter on fuel I just cranked out faster and faster laps.

I would also be interested in longer enduros. The enduros add multiple dimensions to racing. Tire maintanance, thoughts about fuel, maximizing pit stop length, added level of concentration. These are all things that interest me.
