Vettel has proven his worth this past year. The next time he punts someone off the track, he will not be apologising, nor will he be penalized.

You underestimate Vettel. He's gone through his maturation process this season. He f'ed up in the first race of the season, crashed out and took the blame. Then he won in the rain as he had done before, then he won in the dry, then he won by dominating fashion.

This is the true sign of the future champion and if his Renault engines hold and coupled with the "equalization" of the Mercedes lump, you will see a third WDC in as many years in F1. Baby Schumacher will get his in '10 or '11.

Ahhh Petey , such the revisionist.............

Vettel threw away a championship this year , Button was easily in his grasp and he went to sleep . he cannot do so against drivers like Alonso or Hamilton

So yes , IMO he still has on his training wheels and will be a minor irritation in 10...

Threw away is such an ugly term. It wasn't his for the taking considering Button had won 6 of 7 to start the year and Vettel was always playing catch up. Hamilton threw it away with a 17 point lead with 2 races to go in 2007 and almost did it again in 2008.

Both Vettel and Hamilton have matured A LOT in 2009 and depending on the car, both those guys with perhaps Alonso in the Ferrari (depending on what kind of car they build) should be neck and neck for title. I tip Vettel at this point because of the consistancy factor. We'll see for sure after February testing.

Based upon what? They had one of the 2 best non-Kers cars last year, and McLaren and Ferrari are at a .5 second disadvantage without it. What do you know about the 2010 cars that we don't?

And don't go on with the nonsense that Vettel still isn't ready. He is, and he has proven it to everyone but you (apparently).

I guess that I have to as I do not possess your crystal ball and your inside information. Analysing the past and present with clarity is all that I have.

Both of which have proved to have a stunning 0.000007% accuracy rate.

Can there be any doubt, Wayne goes with Alonso to win it all next year?

Who is Petu going to go with? Kimi's gone, Heikki doesn't have a seat, at least not yet, Rosberg is 1/2. Where have all the finns gone? No wonder Flying Finn is taking up WRC... ; - )
