Default Anyone here use left foot braking????

And is it helpful. I would imagine so if you had a turbo car with tons of lag, but other than that, is it worth learning?

I use it occasionally still not too good at it in my car right now. I don't have a turbo. It allows me to get back on teh gas quicker which in some corners is a huge difference in the way I would drive it if I wasn't left foot braking.

It helped a lot more in my WRX at keeping the boost up too.

This would be a good poll question.

I have just started tinkering with it in my N/A car. Thus far, I found my left foot has no precision with the brake pedal! This will take tons of practice to get anywhere with it. I am no expert by any means and am very interested in the variety of responses you get.

I use it in all corners that don't require a downshift. I find it to be a big advantage. I'd recommend training your left foot to brake in a street vehicle. Then once you've developed the necessary sensitivity you can start trying LFB on the track.

x2 Karting is also good for practicing LFB (and staying on the gas at the same time until the flaggers yell at you to stop it)

I LFB in the race car. Clutchless up and down shifts.
Yes, I think it is worth it. Even in a production car where you need the clutch, there are corners where LFB can be a big help.

May I ask what is the proper technique of LFB, why and when it is used?

Also, on the newer cars (like my Cayman) it is not possible since the computer shuts down the accellerator input as soon as the brake pedal is depressed......

Not trying to steal the thread, I just wanted to learn.....

I've tried it in my GT3 and the throttle cuts out when I try to LFB.

Even with throttle cut out in the 2000 and newer cars, it is still useful when you are not downshifting.

Contact Ernie J. His Cayman had the same issues, but I know they developed the car for club racing so I am sure he has a work around. Not sure how much $$$$$.
