If Todd’s fellow club racers agree with him and support what he’s doing, they need to get in touch with each other and agree to stop attending the races. When attendance is cut to half or less, there will be some real leverage. If Todd’s fellow racers don’t support him in that way, it makes no sense for Todd to fight for these reforms on their behalf.
PCA is a club governed by rules and all I am doing is pointing out that they are not following their own rules. I have repeatedly asked for the rules to back up what PCA is asking for and have never received an answer. Nothing.
The is my club, as well as everyone else, so don't we deserve answers? If I am wrong about everything I am saying, and I don't think I am, at the very least PCA is wrong because they refuse to respond to a member.
Again, is this not OUR CLUB?

To be honest, I don't want people to do this for me, and there should be no need.

As I understand it, the doctors on the medical committee have reviewed this matter, determined that trucker's standards apply, are requiring evidence that a CPAP is being used if someone has (discloses) OSA, and the EC, which is comprised of non-doctors, isn't willing to overrule the doctors. All of us non-doctors saying that the doctors are wrong isn't going to convince the EC that they should overrule the doctors. And if we say that there's no evidence that OSA has contributed to racing incidents, they'll argue that there's no evidence that it hasn't, because investigation wasn't done to determine whether OSA was a contributing factor to racing incidents. They can put the burden of proof back on you, and argue that they're playing it safe by asking for CPAP compliance data for anyone who has (discloses) OSA. They can also argue that you have the choice of whether to provide the requested data, and you have the option of not providing it and not having your license renewed, so no one is forcing you to do anything. If you argue that your doctor has cleared you to race, they can argue that such clearance is a necessary requirement, but the medical committee can also have additional requirements.
Bottom line, I'm not confident that you can prevail in this fight by making arguments and citing rules. This is not (yet) a legal matter. I think you need exert some real leverage to prevail, and that requires your fellow racers stepping up and supporting your position in an impactful way (write letters to PCA, stop attending races, chime in this thread, etc.).

Gunfight isn't a good analogy. Each side has different resources and weapons at their disposal. And I suspect that each side isn't assessing the other side adequately, hence this situation dragging on and escalating.

Sorry this is happening..it’s this type of bureaucracy that turned me off of PCA. Lots of precision, but completely missed the target

I think it can be said that the predicament that Todd finds himself embroiled in is a result of a calcified bureaucracy that PCA, as it has grown over the years (and it deserves credit for this increase in membership), becomes almost impossible to avoid? If you've got an eighth-of-a-million members, you're certainly going to have a large bureaucracy to run the damn thing. The National Executive Committee is "staying in their lane" by deferring to the Club Race Medical Committee, regardless of how nonsensical or illogical that may be...a perfect example of the difficulty managing a large bureaucracy can be...
