Caveat: whilst not a series per se, the Isle of Mann TT riders are undoubtedly the bravest as the TT course is simply a circuit just waiting to kill you multiple times/lap.
There was a recent podcast with Ricciardo who went to the same hand doctor in Spain that the MotoGP guys go to. In not so many words, he said he was a little wussy when it came to his surgery and rehab as compared to MotoGP guys who are back on a bike in 1-2 weeks compared to his 2 months. He called them aliens. LOL

Formula One Management has just rejected Andretti's bid to become the 11th team on the grid in 2025 or 2026....

Wow, the value of a current F1 team just jumped up about 25% in my humble opinion.

No way GM comes into F1 as an OEM by 2028 or anytime. Bottomline is if Andretti wants to be in F1, they'll have to buy out HAAS

I agree, the FOM statement is clearly saying they don’t want any more back marker privateer teams like Haas. They want an OEM to buy Haas.

What a ****ing pompous statement that was!

I hope that Andretti buys Haas, since there seems to be no other option going forward, and they start being competitive immediately. Pie in the Sky, I know but that statement has me all pissed off.

I agree with FOM that it would be nearly impossible and a huge waste of money for Andretti to come in for 2025 given the formula will change again for 2026. From what I understand, those regulations have not been finalized yet, so even the existing teams don't have a blueprint in which to build their cars and PU. Further, they aren't allowed to start working on said cars until Jan. 2025 IRC. If we look at how Audi are positioning themselves, it looks to be what existing F1 teams want.

The bottom line is that Andretti will have to be patient and wait for someone to sell out. Big OEMs, like BMW, Toyota, Jaguar to say nothing of privateers like Jordan, Prost and others have vacated F1 not too long ago. Besides HAAS, Sauber/Alfa just sold out a couple years ago and Alpha Tauri is always rumored to be on the auction block. IMO, the relative stability in F1 team structure recently has to do more with the increasing valuations and a hold mentality. Impossible to say how much higher the values could go, but we're probably closer to peak than 3-5 years ago.

This is also the Teams and FOM sending a big FU to Mohammed Ben Sulayem.

IMHO Mohammed Ben Sulayem will be replaced at first opportunity.
