F1 weekend attendance would be better if F2 & F3 were also running. Get more legit racing & cars for the $. The Cup cars were great, but as it turns out, glad I got to see their practices instead of the races. Definitely more action in practice.

F1 Academy, flame suit on. The broadcast on site was an insufferable sales pitch. Continuous suggestions about how fans should feel about the series and racing, and that it's female drivers. Also, did you know it's female drivers? How about these ladies, wow... lady drivers, look at them go... I don't know if the world broadcast is of the same flavor, but eesh if so.

Series probably won't fly for a blatantly obvious reason -- the cars are super lame. You'll get more entertainment watching a DE session. Juxtaposed with F1 cars, the Academy cars are like a joke. Believe they're slower than the Cups, look like open wheel kit cars, sound like a 90's Saturn. If F1 is trying to set up the series to fail and conclude "guess the world just isn't ready..." they've done a good job.
I've tried watching some of the F1 academy races and its simply embarrassing for everyone involved. With all that money, with all those resources, the level of racing is just poor.

I am not sure where you are getting your pricing but a full 3-Day general admission is $285 (and that is in Canadian dollars). I mean, it's not "cheap" but it is pretty reasonable for 3 full days of F1. It is sold out of course so you need to buy early. https://gpcanada.ca/en/tickets/general-admission/

Grandstands are also not that bad. And it is not a mystery, the pricing is right on the site (mostly sold out of course): I take my family every year and I find it to be a good value for what you get compared to many other venues. YMMV

That’s what you would have to pay now for sold out tickets !
I’m a marshall at the GP so it doesn’t concern me , it’s just crazy how fast they sell out …
The price was quoted by someone who was looking to buy tickets from another vendor than the official GP site.

Cheers
Phil

Sainz demoted to 5th after that contact with Piastri.
Took the stewards a long time to assess that penalty.
It was a slam dunk, of course, once they realized he was... Spanish.

Good video with Nico- I think his insights when in the booth are very interesting. He and Ant are my favourite "driver" commentators.

Great to see the reaction of the other drivers to Lando's win, including Max's. Very popular win it seems. One of the best F1 races in a long time all through the grid, except for maybe Kmag... what's up with him??? Have to admit, he's never been one of my favs...

The comment section is even better.
Rosberg didnt have the talent so he had to rely on scraping paint off of his helmet to save weight.
Never mind that HAM had a lot of mechanical issues and a DNF that season.

When I lived back East, I always enjoyed going to Montreal back in the mid-to-late 90's.

Of course, the price of a ticket for one day in Grandstand 24 coming out of the hairpin was only $45
We probably spent more than that for lap dances at Chez Paree, and even that was a bargain.

And when the hotels filled up and got sold out, my buddy and I got creative and would simply grab a dorm room for $19 USD a night up on the hill at McGill University with a gorgeous view of the City! In fact, we wound-up doing that for 2-years in a row.

It was more than just mechanical issues that cost Lewis that season. The FIA had introduced new rules for the driver start/launch procedures and Lewis had a tough time coming to grips with it. He blew several race starts that year. Lewis only had 1 mechanical DNF.

Huge congratulations to the entire McLaren organization! Zak Brown and Andrea Stella have certainly turned the team around from the ashes of Ron Dennis and Martin Whitmarsh. You have to admire and respect a team that works hard, has good people in key positions, 2 solid drivers, no internal drama and whenever they bring upgrades, they just work to perfection. Wonderful to see fellow competitors happy to see you succeed as well.

Funny to see Fred Vasseur wonder over to the McLaren team picture, put a McLaren hat on backwards while wearing a blue Ferrari shirt and spray Lando and the entire team with champagne. Respect! Gotta life Fred too!

This might get me another vacation but who wore it better, Lewis Hamilton at the Met Gala this week or The Dark Lord of the Sith?

Actual text from my daughter the other day - "WTF is Lewis Hamilton doing at the Met gala?"

I had to explain to her that Lewis is a fancy pants and into fashion, etc.
