Weird coincidence with Lewis going to NYU. I saw him in Manhattan right around Met Galla time a few years back. He was walking by Washington Square Park with his peeps. NYU is right there.
There were a couple of articles written about what he does with his hands at the start. If I’m remembering correctly, he said it helps him actuate the hand clutch.

I think it’s actually because he inadvertently triggered a specific button or mode a couple of times at the start and it caused him to bog down; hence keeping his left hand up high on the steering wheel from a standing start.

why does he wrap his left hand over the steering wheel during starts and restarts?
He does it all the time, as if he is covering up some magic juice button or something.
