In the F1 world, minds and plans change instantly. Even "F1 Insiders" are likely to bring wrong on (frequent?) occasion.
Unless we're discussing things that have already happened, aren't we all really just rumor mongers?

The reason I say HAM will be favored from within is because you don't go through the lengths Ferrari did to bring him in without assuring HAM he will be the main focus of the team. Further, you cannot convince Newey to come to Ferrari to work with LEC as a #1 and Lewis as a #2. Finally, what is more valuable to Ferrari in terms of legacy: having an 8 time WDC in red or LEC with his first? It all points to LEC being odd man out starting in 2025.
This really crystallizes it in my mind... In the current situation, Leclerc being the future of Ferrari would make sense if he was just in his first or second season, and that Hamilton was being bought in as the lead driver while Leclerc learns the trade and then takes over a few seasons later. However, Leclerc is at the stage in his career where he is (should be?) ready to mount a championship challenge in a good enough car. That Ferrari has decided to get an alpha driver to slot in beside Charles says much.

No one brings in Hamilton to make sure the team reliably bags constructors points. They are bringing him in to win.

The only question now is will Ferrari allow LEC to compete straight up with HAM? The answer is no, just like Ron Dennis favored HAM v. ALO at McLaren after their controversial year at McLaren. Ferrari is putting all their eggs into one basket so LEC will have to pull a Rosberg and show some formidable strength and go away from his naturally easy nature and be a killer if he wants to survive against the internal politics at Ferrari.
I think it was smart of Mercedes to have Hamilton, the veteran racer, there to help show George the way.

On a certain level I think what Ferrari is doing doesn't make sense. You had two really competitive young drivers, with a decent team dynamic, and they are now giving that up for a driver who may only be in it for a couple more years. They gave up an investment in the future for 1 or 2 years of excitement.

I'm not a Hamilton hater, and I do think he has talent, but I don't think he has the commitment of Alonso. Alonso is so thoroughly enjoying the last few years and you can see it on his face. I don't see that for Hamilton.

Not sure that is a good thing for Ferrari, which is historically volatile, but it is going to make for some interesting races.
Maybe Lewis will make Charles push himself the way he made Rosberg dig deep to beat him.

Giving credit to the folks who post here, when someone has a juicy rumor they cite the source in order to credit that reporter properly via a link to their website. That is how it should be done.

This French dude is not citing sources and seems to be taking credit for investigating these rumors personally when in fact he is simple regurgitating other's work without giving them credit. That is plagiarism.

Wrong.
Check out his posts.I can't think of a time when the source of the 'rumor' wasn't stated.
Generally, one of the bazillion European motorsports sites. Some of them, no doubt, could be the motoring equivalent to The Enquirer.

It will be very interesting to see where Newey lands and how much it actually shakes things up. While I love Newey, MB managed 8 WDC in a row without him. I personally would like to see him go to AM and help ALO's chances of getting on the top step.
I don't know what to make of the VER to MB rumors. Who the hell knows.

Maybe Newey will pull a ROS and simply retire on top. He is 65.

In post #1379 where is the cited source?

And if he is posting other people's reporting how is the French almost always right? Isn't the cited source( the actual reporter) the one that is right? Why give credit to the French guy?
