Buying used 4 e-hybrid - what to look for?

As I've said before, Tesla is a technology company that builds cars, not a car company. Eventually, I suspect Tesla will start selling their tech to other automakers via licensing agreements because there is probably more money in it. The car production will be something they do on the side.

Most Tesla owners I know think it is the best car they ever owned. Most are prior owners of German Marques including Porsche.
When I hear people dismissing Tesla as a fad, I am reminded of when Ford was offered VW for free.
The Brits were willing to hand over all of VW for nothing, just to get the burden off their hands. When the time came to make a decision, Ernest Breech, Chairman of Ford's Board, looked at Ford II and said: "Mr. Ford, I don't think what we're being offered here is worth a damn," according to Small Wonder. Meeting adjourned.

I had my CPO 2015 model replace it's batter last year only a couple of months after purchase. I would strongly recommend against buying it without at least the CPO warranty. Also, check the range when you buy it, make sure it is completely charged. When I bought mine, I was only getting about 5-7 miles on a full charge. If the battery goes really bad, you're not able to use the car on just gas.
Was it the low mileage, kWh stored, etc?
I've got a 2016 CPO that holds maybe 11 mi worth of charge (8.5 kWh?), which is lower than spec. Curious when I should bring it up with service to see if they'll put in a new battery.

Thanks for sharing your experience! What triggered the battery replacement whole under CPO?

Unfortunately, the HV battery in this series, while priced like a giant Tesla battery (60-100 kWh), is only about the same size / capacity of what you will find in a Prius (9.4 kWh).
Replacing the Porther 9.4 kWh battery costs as much to replace as the Tesla 100kWh+, or 5x the cost of the similar size Toyota battery. The life expectancy of the Porsch battery is 1/2 of those others. Fanbois call that "superior German Engineering".

If battery fails to point where Porsche will replace it under warranty, you likely will see a "Hybrid Sytem Failure" message which will immobilize the vehicle. On many hybrids when the HV battery fails you can continue running it as a gasser. On the Porsche it becomes a brick and you will pay $25k ransom to unbrick it. Remember, "superior German engineering" comes at a cost.

Since the 971 has been out for a bit now, thinking about buying a Panamera hybrid and have been reading a lot of battery problems with the 970 to the point where people have said to not even bother getting a Porsche hybrid. Since it’s been about 6 years now with the 971, has anyone experienced the battery failing or any problems with the hybrid? Basically, stay away from buying a hybrid?? Or are the 971s a lot more reliable?
