Thanks. That is one crazy thread.
Does the provided RAR files represent a complete bootable image including the OS? Alternatively, do you extract the image to an ssd and boit Win10 from a seperate drive on laptop. I do have an old thinkpad with Win 10 lying about. Trying to search through the thousands of piwis messages for a simple answer.

I checked the released WIN8 version and can assure that it will boot on a Dell Ultrabook without problem.
Therefore i did a sectorcopy from the provided image with Easeus Home 12 version to a 256 GB SSD.
This lasted around 14 hours until finish and after replacing the SSD in the Dell and the obviously neccesary driver preparation (while auto startup with no additional files) WIN8 was ready to run.
This was the easy part.
Provided inside the image is the keygen for imprinting the PIWIS. You have to know how to use the Keygen - what is not trivial.
After that you can start the PIWIS and work offline with cars until MY 2021.
For the usage of the well known Actia China clones I had to install the 1.6.6.0 VCI driver and had to replace the XS_D_PDU_API_64 in the Actia_64 folder
with an for the clonework prepared folder and dll´s
The provided image contains an Actia_64-clone.exe wich should do the work automatic - but iI didn´t know the neccesary password and did it by hand and with some files I collected before :-)
After all you can check the ACTIA_D-PDU_API_Tester.exe (inside the folder above) and after it runs through with all test marks checked you are ready to code the car.
Engineering mode is available and you can choose the version (41.4 or 38.250) from the main menue inside the PIWIS. I do not know who has done this hybrid version - but she is definitely worth the money if you are not familiar with computeradjustments and have to buy it fully functional from somebody.

Nope. you'll have to change the DME Mapping and re-flash the changed map to your DME.
This goes far beyond Piwis capabilities, you need e.g. WInOLS to edit the map and a good insight into where to look for that parm, how to do re-mapping, etc.

I just got my piwis 3 up and running thanks to @rnlst_log
I installed his image on a Dell which was collecting dust. Ordered the VAS 6154 from eBay.
As others have noted, the image and support from rnlst_log is worth every penny and the cost was far less than buying a kit elsewhere.
After confirming that my laptop meets requirements, and determining what version best suited to my vehicle, he provided me link to image which has instructions for putting on a USB and loading to the laptop. All went smooth and easy.
Once my VAS arrived we connected with a TeamViewer setting and he worked the necessary magic to set up the keys. We then hooked it up to my Panamera, he made sure it was configured properly and provided me with an overview of how to use it. Image also has the parts catalog which he configured and demonstrated
So, a 5 star rating from me. If you want PIWIS, at a fair price without the headaches, I highly recommend going with @rnlst_log

I just worked with rnlst log. I provided the laptop with his help and he guided me through the rest. He will send you instructions, and in the end complete the installation with team viewer. After installation when his job was done, he spent hours with me trying to code out my parking brake. Just wanted to help.He responds to my questions within minutes

Search the 992 and Cayenne forums. I've detailed what you want in this forum. Many folks have spent a lot of time to do these modifications, please take a moment and search so we don't repeat a thousand times the same things. Thanks
