See my note in the other forum. I don't think they are what you need (but I could be wrong). If they are basically a car battery inside a rolling thingie, meant to use to jump start (200A) and/or provide some decent charge for a little while (40A), but are really a 6A slow charger, then they are not what you want. The units that John and I use are meant to drive 55 (mine) or 75 (John's) amps for hours on end. This does not indicate "hours on end" at 40A:
• 6A<>2A CHARGE/MAINTAIN – For charging small and large batteries. Not recommended for industrial applications.
• 40A BOOST – For quickly adding energy to a severely discharged or large capacity battery prior to ENGINE START.
• 200A ENGINE START – Provides 200 amps for cranking an engine with a weak or run-down battery.
Hmm - if 40A is enough, maybe some of these WILL be fine (note the bold/italics section I highlighted). I'm not sure it matters in your garage, but I have a Cayenne, and it specifies "> 50A" on the connector under the hood. 40A won't cut it for a Cayenne (and probably not for a Panamera, either).

Need help. Bought a Dell laptop e6440 on eBay with Piwis lll, ver 38.4, and now I need all the cables and VCI.
where can I get it and will it work with what I have now?

If you don't mind getting the real one, about $1000, the links are a few posts above with part number, or try going to your local dealer. Sunset says they have it in stock.
If you want the VAS clone, the link is also a few posts above. About $85 on eBay, and the same vendor has it for $75 on aliexpress. But everyone that ordered these including me has to wait over a month for shipping-
What did your eBay sale description say? Why didn't it come with a VAS and cable? And was it US based? While it does give you the option on choosing what to get for the head, it depends how much you paid for it-hopefully a good deal

ordering thru Aliexpress (China) took about 10 days total time to Germany. No customs duties applied, not sure how they did that.
same clone ordered from Belauto took more than 3 weeks as Russia customs had it laying around 2 weeks before releasing it. Also no custom duties in my case.
both work fine and are exactly the same, HW and FW, but only work with 2020 date.

Not sure what you'll have to do when you receive your VCI
The 2020 date creates a date headache when resetting service intervals, but one poster said there's a workaround for it-

Have a similar question. Looking at a Piwis 3 - AliExpress listing says "complete package" including Dell laptop but I'm not sure all the cables are included, only one cable is shown (sorry for the novice question, but how many cables do you need for connecting everything, two?). Price is $715 so I suspect something is missing.

If you scroll up a few pages, a few months ago I had posted links with prices to most vendors with different options, complete systems.
They ranged from around $1088-$1600 depending on laptop and versions. These prices might have dramatically come down-if you read the descriptions with pricing then click on the link, it might be that the prices have gone down quite a bit in some cases. Some had Dell and Panasonic laptops or the more affordable Lenovo ones.
