^this!

Last year 1 R for every 3 gt350 allocation. 2017 is 1R for every 2 gt350 allocation. So those that bought R to flip probably won't be making backflips of joy.

Where did you hear this?

Makes no sense considering that there are around 3,000 Ford Dealers in USA. Most dealers will get GT350 1 or 2 allocations per year. R allocation is based on the total Mustang volume. Also, per GT350 registry, there is less than 100 Rs sold compared to 3,000 GT350s. Definitely not 1 to 3 ratio.

I was also told a dealer getting 3 regular gt350s gets one R. That was for 2016 and from a source who has yet to steer me wrong

I hear what you're saying and it makes me confused. My good friend own a small Ford dealership. They don't sell a lot of mustangs. (More trucks) so that's why he only gets 1gt350 allocation for 2017.
I'll double check tomorrow about the R allocation process for 2017. Something doesn't add up so I might have misunderstood.

I guess for reference.. The dealer I am working with received 14 x GT350's and 2 x R's. They are the largest SVT dealer in the province.
-I should hopefully get my R in a couple of months... barring any surprises,

Correction,

The small ford dealers had to get 3 gt350 allocations to get 1 R during 2016.
For 2017 they need to get 2 gt350 to get 1 R. There is obviously a cap for the bigger dealers that get many gt350s.
So for the above dealer that got 14 gt350 in 2016. They might still only get 2-3R for 2017.

Ford looking after the small dealerships.

Default 2017 GT350R

This thread made me think about getting a GT350. Thank you!

So a while back I got my name on the "VIP" list and I will have a 2017 R coming. I was told that I would get the ETA prior to April 29. I did NOT order Electronics package, and I ordered Grabber Blue/white stripes and car cover that's all.

Good decision and congratulations on your order!

I was out at the Porsche Armada event all day yesterday, fantastic cars and fantastic people. When I got home I took out the GT350, it felt like a hypercar after the 911.

That sounds awesome. Have a blast with it when it arrives.

Hopefully I'll be able to tell soon enough which is quicker out of a track set up 996gt3 and a gt350.

And then get a pro driver to do the same. 👊👊

Not sure if that's a fair comparison :-P I think the 997S & GT350 should be pretty close...
