Maybe temps and the massive abuse of Sebring ???

I wonder what would a C6Z06 be capable of lapping in Sebring on RA-1s, in fairly stock form.
Maybe just brakes seats and harness, and is there any other necessary upgraded needed ?

IMO there are a number of folks who track Corvettes who have massively tweaked engines...which don't stand up to track abuse especially at places like Sebring. They will say they're "stock" but aren't.

+1. I still remember a Viper who somehow placed himself in the advanced group but was driving slower than first timers in the novice group. Egos....

To be fair, there are plenty of bad drivers who own Porsches too....

Also which one of the Z06s are track worthy ?

Exactly. And a number of them end up ****-up at the track as well with engine failures.

True. I'm probably biased because I've seen several Corvettes and Vipers go off track in spectacular and dramatic fashion. Also the one and only car to car contact that occurred in DE organizer's intermediate group was caused by an aggressive Corvette driver. But then again I do remember a GT3 driver parking it in T1 at Thunderhill and almost causing a pile up.

Torque. It's a wonderful thing, but difficult to control when you've got gobs of it in the low end and have RWD.

that's what I like the most, but I could be wrong, I drove a 590WHP Z06 a while ago, and didn't feel the massive torque down low, maybe gears are really long, but didn't FEEL that torquey.

A lot of thoughts come to my mind ...

100k drive line warranty, and rev matching helps you choose gears....
