Maybe I am missing something, but isn't that exactly the same Porsche does with the GT3/GT3RS Warranty ?
A car that was made for the track at a much higher cost than the Vette ?

With the Porsche you are depending on your dealer and not Porsche to get warranty coverage when tracking your car.

Correct me if I am wrong, doesn't the GT3/GT3RS Owners manual state that same text "warranty void if tracked"

Just my 0.02

That's the ticket. Once you find a dealer that support motorsport and honor warranty then you are good to go. I have a great relationship with my service manager and he track his vette hard. If my engine grenade for some reason then I will have a new replacement under warranty - that's why I got a new Z06 with drivetrain warranty

Wow good point. I think my gt3 is cool and pretty. I guess that happens when you don't want a viper or corvette but cant afford a Ferrari. Beauty is always in the eye of the beholder (and based on bank accounts when all else fails)

We are all customer,
if you owned a Corvette, you are GM customer,
if you owned a Porsche, you are Porsche customer.

as customer we would hope we get the most bang for our buck.

Porsche at present is the most profitable car maker in the world,
in term of per unit profit margin.
Porsche certainly make more (in both percentage and absolute term) margin
than GM.

Yes, Porsche still had better build quality and material then Corvette,
but that is normal because Porsche charged us much more!

But one of this day, Porsche got to step up their performance,
People are buying Porsche GT3's because they want to have the
highest performing car in their respected price range.

Not only Nissan GTR and Corvette and Viper beat the GT3's,
they all able to do it with relatively cheaper price too.

There will always be The Porsche Premium, but I think right now,
Porsche is asking way too much premium.
Porsche is taking too much profit margin.

Sooner or later, the market will respond.
Don't forget, in the early 90's, Porsche almost went bankrupt themselves,
nobody is immune from the power of the market.

I play with 991 C4S Car configurator, and putting decent options (including engine power kit option) easily bump the MSRP to above $150K.
That is NOT OK.

aren't you tired of being lapped by Z06 or Viper (driven by equally skilled driver as you?),
while we are paying more to buy our GT3 and also cost more to maintain it?
In the old days, the term "Porsche, There is NO Substitute" really means something,...

not now, not anymore... Plenty of Better Performing Substitute at lower price.

They are only faster until they overheat to break. For some that takes only a few laps while a GT3 does it all day day after track day.
A c4s is no track car. Wait for GT3 and let's see how it holds up.

We don't get lapped and pass more of those cars than they pass us and only if they have been heavily modified. We do pay the price of admission, but get the best depreciation value in car land.

Come on, not all Corvette, Viper, GTR are that prone to break,
and not all GT3 are bulletproof either.

and when a GT3 break, it will cost even more.

I am a very Fanatic Porsche Customer,
but whenever I remember their "highest profit margin",
I realized I am being robbed without realizing it, and still praise them
for robbing me.

but there are limit to my patience, and I am sure many Porsche customer
feel the same way.

In the 1990's Porsche loyal customer left,
it happened once, it could happened again.

All I see on the track at Sebring break. We take bets what session they go flatbed if OEM.
If not driven 100% and with some mods corvettes and Vipers can survive, but cost the same as gt3 with more depreciation. We disagree on value.

I'm no Porsche fan for the car, only for durability. Porsche should build the Z06.

I'm also partial because I don't fit in 2 seaters so the 911 2+ legroom is required. Sitting on a GTR is like sitting on the toilet, never mind the wallowing suspension.

Maybe you don't get lapped and you pass more of "those car" than they pass you,
because you are a very skilled driver.

but are you sure if you drive a bone stock GT3RS against another driver with the same skill as you driving a
bone stock Viper or GTR or ZR1, you can still "pass them" instead of being pass?

even
Porsche Factory Driver failed to achieve better lap times in the Nurgburgring
against Viper/GTR/ZR1.

This is what I am NOT happy about, because Porsche actually able to
build car capable of beating Viper/GTR/ZR1 with the price they charged us,
All it need is for Porsche to take "LOWER Profit MARGIN".

Actually, Porsche also depreciate quite a lot if you calculate in term of percentage. and if you take the "absolute amount of money" that depreciate,
it is pretty similar.
Yes, a used Porsche still cost a lot, but compare to the brand new price,...

Regarding GTR as toilet,
well, I am NOT a fan of GTR, but isn't it embarrassing that the TOILET
can lapped Nurburgring faster than our GT3 RS?

Being passed by a higher performing car is one thing, but being passed by a TOILET ?

One lap is different from entire sessions and weekends..
Give me a GTR and ill put it in limp mode in 10 laps. Zr1 same but Z06 is a contender if you put 30k into it for brakes and suspension.

Vipers cost too close to gt3. Fast, most dependable of the rest but feels like driving a dually around the track....

But at the price Porsche is charging us,
Porsche should be able to make GT3 RS FASTER compare to GTR/Z06/ZR1
whenever it is a drag race or at just one lap or entire sessions/weekends.
(I am talking about bone stock car against bone stock car)

They can if they want too, but Porsche just care more about maintaining
their Profit Margin.

but Porsche don't really care because we are still buying their product...
that is why, sooner or later, the customer got to vote with their wallet,
and refuse this kind of treatment from Porsche.
We don't mind paying Porsche Premium but Porsche better make sure
our Premium ensure our superiority in Performance compare to other.

^ I have to say that I agree, seems like Detroit is trying a lot harder to earn our $$ than Porsche. I hate feeling like I am getting ripped off on anything and that will change my buying habits. I love P cars, but it feels like they are adopting F car habits. Bummer

Pcars always hold their value so you get it back.

Pcar tuning is just a rip off.

Pcar performance could be better but out of the box the balance is good and they have something most other marques would die for...

50 years and going strong
