I just got back from Spring Mountain raceway last weekend where I saw 120 new C7's. They are training dealer sales people on the performance aspects of the car, this should make them more helpful on the sales floor. I currently own a 11 zo6 and I will not be trading mine after seeing them in person. I will take another look when the new z model comes out.

I went over and lurked at Corvette forums last night. Looked like a lot of teething pains with new cars. Some of the paint/fit/finish issues were downright appalling. To their credit, GM seems to be handling customer problems pretty well. Very much want to test drive one. Need to find one in a rental fleet somewhere on the W. coast

Had another chance to look over some production cars at Petit in the Corvette Corral. All of them had ill fitting panels and one owner heard me talking about his yellow car and flipped a lid when I was talking about his new beauty.

These guys are a sensitive bunch.

I got invited to drive a new Stingray Z51 at the Monticello Motor Club. Amazing car.
The interior was the nicest I've seen in any GM product - ever.
The looks are nice.
The engine is amazing and it sounds terrific.
The handling is also amazing.
Great track day at Monticello.
I would consider one, but for now I'll stick with my other car....

Hoping to get my stingray Z51, 7 sp manual, Z51 built in a month; constraints have slowed the process down; had to opt out of the carbon roof for now due to supply issues. Aware of the QC issues; will go over car with fine tooth comb before accepting it from dealer. Keeping my GT3 and will even put on my winter sottozeros that I had with my C4S for the colder temps in the PNW. (avoid on salty roads hopefully). Had to get narrow body fitment rear wheels to do the transition, however. (OZ Ultralegerras)
Was getting a bit bored with the pdk; glad back to manual Porsches in our stable.

This will be a DD but will take it to driving skills after break in and an occasional DE with the Porsche club. Have to be judicious about applying all that torque. The new nannies and e diff will help you stay out of trouble but I have seen quite a few corvettes get on the power too much too soon and go not where they intended to go..

Get a C6 ZR1 while the C7 teething issues get worked out and the Z models come out. I'm anxiously awaiting the C7 Z06 and ZR1 info to be released.

I came within .3 of breaking the TT1 NASA track record with a nearly stock ZR1 on slicks two weekends ago. Record is held by Troy Messer driving his C6 race car that is a good 500lbs lighter than my ZR.

Here is a link to that lap:

Impressive. The ZR1 is not easy to drive quickly, much in the same vein as my 930. Nice job! Slick data also.

Thanks, the PTM definitely helps me get out of the hole a little more effectively. I would have to imagine your 930 is a little trickier to drive as you don't have the race traction management to regulate torque and also the pendulum effect with any oversteer due to the rear weight bias has to be a little bit trickier to control.

Corey, when you gonna add that aero man? Messer has a sequential now and us faster than he was when he last ran TT in TX.

Troy will always probably stay a little faster. His car is hundreds of lbs lighter than mine and its a perfectly set up race car. Even with aero, I could still add 100rwhp and stay in TT1. I'm not willing to do what I would need to do to this car to be competitive. I may still get aero, just deciding as it requires cutting the rear bumper, etc. (I.e not easily reversible). All my mods to date (seats, bushings, camber kit, harness bar is very easily reversible.
