Therefore, I'm glad to see that a Macan can handle a reasonable snowfall on the (Michelin) all seasons that were fitted on my GTS.

Driving west across NM last January I hit a terrible snow storm around Tucumcari that lasted 100 miles. Icy roads, high winds and snow made even seeing the road difficult. Most cars stopped and several semi trucks blown off the road laying on their sides. I just kept rolling, albeit slowly, and my little S (20" Pirelli Scorpions) stayed rock steady never slipping or sliding once; made me more a fan of this car and its capabilities. My new GTS will have 21" AS tires, hopefully they'll be as capable in snow.

Speaking of winter driving, we've been getting a few small accumulations of snow. I picked up my 2024 Macan S right before Christmas from Alabama. I'm sure it never saw snow or even temps below freezing. The Scorpion tires do just fine and the AWD is great.

I've been away for a month and finally got back behind the wheel of my Macan.
The rental might've been a new car but I'll take my 2017 over it any day of the week.

I'm shopping for a used S but would really like to avoid the sunroof. Any guesses as to what proportion of vehicles out there don't have it? I'll work with it if I have to.

No idea but suspect most people checked the pano box since it's free.
Also wish I had the aluminum roof but got stuck with the pano roof.
I prefer less weight up top. It has to be at least 80 lbs.

Needle in a haystack. Maybe 1 in 15? Since it's part of the Premium Plus package, almost all the dealer ordered cars have them. You would have needed someone to factory order the Macan and opt out of it.

I was looking for a base with air suspension, no pano roof, hitch receiver, 20 inch wheels, and anything but black leather. I finally gave up and got everything I wanted but it has a pano roof.

You'lll see a few GTS without pano roofs here and there, as those were more likely customer orders.

Not free. But it's included in a popular package that makes it pretty common to get other popular options.

My GTS falls into this category. I've rarely used sunroof in previous cars and wanted to avoid weight penalty and other issues related to sunroofs (leaks). Interestingly enough, the sales guy really pushed this option suggesting the car would almost certainly be unsaleable as a CPO vehicle in the future. I guess we'll about that some day.

Sales guys love to upsell you on options telling you it'll make the car easier to sell down the road.

I factory ordered my old '11 M3 Sedan without a sunroof. Dealer told me the same thing. By the time I was ready to get rid of it the cars without a roof became pretty sought after.

I think the same will be the case with the Macan. My GTS (without a pano roof) is sitting at the Emden port waiting to get on a boat. FWIW keep looking around. I've seen a decent number of no-pano Macans. Probably <5% but they are out there (Base, T, S, GTS).

As I am heading to the Barrett-Jackson Auto show in Scottsdale, AZ this weekend, I will be dropping the Macan off at my buddy's body shop to have the roof rails and window trim pieces blacked out while I am gone.

Furthermore, I ordered a PORSCHE Macan S badge in black for the rear, as it is currently also chrome.

I will share pics of the finished product. I am for sure excited, as I think it will give it a much more aggressive/mean look.
