time to get an extended warranty for the GT4 ??

 

I would think the gear would fail before the warranty is up. Might be an issue for those that don't put very many miles on their car. Mine came with a CPO good through Nov 2011 Edit: 2021 .

On closer examination it appears I have a Wicked Motors bodied Boxster.

 

I had a customer satisfaction call today from PCNA and I told them I was worried about third gear failing. My take is that the call was entirely about this issue because we didn't talk about any thing else.

 

You received an unsolicited call from them, asking general questions about your satisfaction?

I assume YOU brought up the transmission concern.

I got the same unsolicited call from PCNA; however, I did not bring up the 3rd gear issue. The first time, they left a message. I did not call back and they called again a few days later. This was over a month ago, may have been last year.
If you talked about 3rd gear for most of the call, what did the PCNA representative have to say about it.

 

Using fremont? I hope they put you in a turbo 911 loaner in the meantime at least. If they have them of course.

 

I would be livid and fiercely demand a 918 as a loaner.

 

Part number change means nothing. They always have a different part number for replacements. It allows them to track it and once they run out of brand new gearboxes they will plug in rebuilt/repaired gearboxes under the same number.
