Best Track Times in a GT4
#586
I also have the wing higher with the BBI wing uprights so I'm very curious how much more speed I'll get in the fast sweeping turns. I didn't add any canards for the front, I'll see how the car feels and if I'm getting more understeer than normal I'll install some canards on the front.

Thanks, man!
The timer on the left is a Solo DL. The phone is running the Porsche track app. Where do you see a time difference? The only difference is the start/stop marker and the track app logged a 1:57.2 vs the solo DL 1:57.3. The Digital counter on the lower left matches the Solo DL time of 1:57.3.
Post production is a total PITA the first few times you do it. I have templates now, and I've done it so many times that it takes little time and effort to make them now. There is a steep learning curve though.

I took a quick screenshot of the time difference I noticed. There's a couple seconds between the phone on the dash and the timer on the left of the YouTube (post production) frame, not the Solo. Just curious. Awesome driving as usual.

I finally got my laptop and MoTeC data from our CotA trip for the PCA club race in March. I managed a PB of 2:30.4 on my first (and only good weather) day.

And here is a PB from my home track, Thunderhill, at this past weekend's club race. This is the 3 mile Cyclone course. It was my first time in this car at TH. I did a 1:59.9. Plenty more to be found. I'm still trying to grapple with moving from a rear engine Cup car to a mid-engine street car with 50 or so less horsepower and less aero.

My car has the stock engine and exhaust. The tires are well worn Hoosier R7's. The suspension is all monoball.

VIR, 2:12:05 (video says 2:11:9), 3/19/2017. Stock wheels, Cup 2s. Stock suspension, max camber (-1.7 F / -1.5 R). Max stock aero (wing & remove spoilers). Fabspeed sport headers. Using Porsche Track Precision App (with Dual precision GPS):
I didn't realize my fastest lap included two passes. The first pass caused me to screw up turns 3 and 4 because there's no way that was the fast line through there!

Nice driving Mike. Appeared whitey GT4 had stickier tires, but your shortened the course in several places and kept close - very nice! Moved up 1 spot on the board.

Maybe me - with the fancy blue painter's tape numbers?
(edit - watched the video, I see the painter's tape... guilty as charged!)
COTA - 2:31.50 - 100% stock car, stock brakes, stock alignment with stock 20" wheels and RE71R
I tell you what, once you get the lumbar dialed in for the 18 way sofa sports seats... it's worth close to a second per lap!

I was at Thunderhill this weekend running my GT3. Got a new PB in the GT3 there by 0.2 seconds, so I was itching to try another PB in the GT4. Unfortunately, I didn't bring my car. So, I swapped cars with doborder instead and beat my prior best time..... by a measly 0.04 seconds. LOL!
Doborder's car is pretty much the identical setup with mine except he doesn't have the DSC unit. RE71R tires on their last day. You can hear me swear to myself after screwing up T11 and then the disappointment after crossing the line. LOL
2:00.14 with me driving doborder's car

Had fun yesterday running with the VIR Drivers Club. First time back at VIR in over 10 years. It was about 38F (air temp) for our first run. Third (and last run for me) was the fastest run of the day at about 52 - 54F.
Couple of "stock cars", race GT3s and a GT3 RS in my run group. Very fun. I'll have to find some videos of the stock cars passing me -- my ears were ringing.
Ended up with a fast lap of 2:09.74 on the full course.
At NJMP I play with a lot of 997 and 991 GT3s and never really felt under powered. However, following this 991 GT3 RS really makes me want a boost feature on the straights.
You guys running 2:03s have some serious speed. I believe I have about 2 secs left but beyond that, my pucker factor would be way too high.
(BTW - Matt - my NJMP Thunderbolt time of 1:29.86 (see post #550) still need to be added.)

Nordschleife - 8:23.13 (stock car off the factory floor, first day at the 'Ring)
MSR Houston CCW - 1.46.01 (100% stock car, 20" OEM wheels with RE71R, first day at MSRH)
Sebring - 2:25.87 (100% stock car, 20" OEM wheels with RE71R, first day at Sebring before tranny blew)
And Lar, really... we need to talk about this:
