I found the 71RS to last and actually get faster with wear. My best times were when they were basically slicks.
We were happiest with hot pressures around 29 or 30. They are good to the last bit of tread; that said, my times were very similar with two weekends back to back - the first on an old set and last weekend was on a new set. The new set did seem to make more noise and were a little different to drive.
What kind of time improvements did you find on "basically slicks" vs. new ones?

Had a fantastic weekend at the Glen again with Metro. Overall great weather. A bit hot on day 1 with the car making noticeably less power (I could hardly crack a 2:09). Day 2 was reasonable, but had rain in the afternoon. Day 3 couldn't have been better with cool air and warm sun. I broke my PB a few times, ultimately landing a new best of 2:06.3. I was stoked just to break into the 6's, so very happy overall. It helped having a fast 991.1RS in front of me to be chasing. Funny enough, as I review the video, I notice a bunch of areas for improvement, so hopefully I can hit a 2:05 when I'm back in September. Great to see @FAhmed out there too!

Watkins Glen 2:06.3
981 GT4 stock power
19" Bridgestone RE-71RS 255/285 on Apex SM-10 wheels
Ferodo DS3.12 (front)/DS1.11 (rear) pads
Tarett rear toe links & front camber plates
DBJ springs

Very nice lap! Smooth, confident. With cooler ambient temps that's easily a 2:05.

Nice! I was there yesterday with my 718 manual GT4 with jcr exhaust and 245/285 Goodyear sc3 with track alignment. 12th day on the tires (!!!). Could not for the life of me get into the 58s.

That is awesome @FAhmed ! I have a set of 245/285 SC3's waiting for me in the basement once I wear out my Cup 2's!!! Glad to see no drop off in times!! 12th day!!! Crazy. Can't wait to try them out - I should have bought when they had 295's in stock but oh well.
The Cups I had on had about 400 track miles on them (I measure miles since I usually do open track events) It started to rain 30 min into the day then had 2 hours in the pm dry. I too wanted to go for a 58.XX. Couldn't do it - one day!!

yes i love the SC3. I think about as fast as cup2, cheaper and last long too. If I don’t downsize to 19 for my next set of wheels/tires, I will get 245/305 sc3

I am thinking with the track alignment 305 will fit in the rear with 20's. I see many going 305 with 19's. I have a set of 19's just sitting right now as I am burning up the Cups on the 20's.

I currently run 305 Nankang CRS on the stock 20" wheels for track and it works well. Rear camber is at -1.9

WOW!! How in the world are you getting 12 days out of SC3s? What alignment settings are you running and what hot pressure are you using? I’m barely able to get 3 days out of mine before they start delaminating, and I’m in a 981 GT4 which is supposed to be 200 lbs lighter. I’m running -3.5 F and -1.7 R

I run 305s with -1.7 of camber and they also fit when I was on the stock alignment, you should be fine.

That’s very interesting. here’s my alignment specs. 31F 32R hot pressures. They are definitely less grippy now than the first few days but still good enough to run at a pretty fast pace. Also mine are 245/285 20”

I assume you got 12 days out of SC3s, not SC3Rs, yet a set of those and I bet you would be in the 58s at Lime Rock!
