...John your recommendations on coating and wrapping is spot on, there is nothing wrong with your headers (other than having the wrong name stamped on them lol) and your customer service is top notch as always. Big thumbs up, and I look forward to our next chat at some point

I wouldn't wrap a header if the car is driven in an area using salt on roads in the winter. They wrap may retain salt. Hot salt is pretty corrosive.

No it's not Tim Hendy though I know the owner/driver. The car is a very serious no-expense spared device. Ride height is raised and suspension totally re-engineered and the usual engine mods.
My 996.1 GT3 has a lowered final drive drive with a cup car diff and it is really very good as you get to use all gears on many (though not all tracks) and if someone comes up with a good FD ratio for the GT4 I will look at it in the future.

There is a company coming our with a shorter FD on the GT4 by about 20%, it should be ready for release the middle of this year.
John, any issues with coating or wrapping the sport headers? I have not seen any, but was considering putting in some heat protection before next summer. I have seen reports of welds (possibly on OEM) failing on headers when wrapped. I am on the path to put heat reflecting material only on the parts of the headers that face the engine to avoid any unintended consequences. Dealing with heat is tricky...

No threads but here's the car at a Sydney event. I think it was probably a bit of a shakedown while they develop the cars for the 2017 Tarmac season.

I wrong about the lower FD in the rally car. The workshop was only installing a Guards LSD (OEM LSD was shot); the guy I originally spoke to got it wrong. The chap actually doing the work said there was a shorter FD in Europe but it had reliability problems. Anyway, I'm in no rush and will wait till others have trod the gear ratio changes vs FD path quite a bit before I venture there.
I did however pick up my GT4 today after RSS toe links were fitted and a 3 deg F 2.7 deg R neg camber was set plus small toe out/toe in plus IPD and TB. Won't get a chance to try it for while unfortunately, but seemed civilised enough on the road.

THE WORST NEWS - myBailey07 - otherwise known in life as Michiel Espach and the starter of this thread, passed from cancer at the age of 45 on January 6, 2017. If you knew him, you probably didn't even know how sick he was, he just loved cars, learning how to drive better, and sharing that knowledge with others. We have all lost one of the truly good ones, my deepest condolences to his wonderful wife and family.
He battled a terminal diagnosis from the age of 42 of Stage 4 lung cancer caused by a mutation in a gene known as ALK (forgive me, I am a medical dummy and just relaying what he told me), never smoked a day in his life and he was one heck of an athlete. In the last few months, it seems that the cancer he had battled finally made it to his brain and he received the bad news just a couple of weeks ago before Christmas.
I am a much better driver from the gift of his instruction on numerous occasions in my GT4 and Viper ACR-E. I will miss his friendship most of all - it is heartbreaking. Thank you Michiel, getting to know you over Porsches was an incredible gift to me. I will leave you with what he conveyed to me, "do not delay a thing that you have been wanting to do, not one day more, no excuses AND live fast and be nice."

Just went back to the first post to remind myself what a boon this thread is and what a debt I owe that can never be repaid.
Condolences to the family.

He was the nicest guy you would ever meet at the track and a real enthusiast. Rest in peace, brother.
