1) It gives you an extra degree of freedom when trying to stuff a wider tire. Plates move the top of the wheel in in, shims pull the bottom out. Shims move the stance of the car wider, so if you have a wheel that already has an aggressive offset, you might be challenged to run a wider tire.
2) My setup guy (Eric) at ATX has a hypothesis that using shims is lowering the wheel rate and making the roll issue/understeer/tire wear worse. Not a huge amount, maybe 2-4% but enough to impact.
The issue with the old Tarret camber plates is that they rotated the strut, which removed a couple degrees of caster, somewhat negating the impact of running higher negative camber. Higher caster gives you more negative camber as the steering input increases. The new design is supposed to address the caster reduction.

I just had my stock GT4 suspension adjusted. Now the front has a -1.8 camber and the back -1.3. It should help a little.

I know, I know - but I am trying to be GOOD!!!! First, let me keep getting better behind the wheel as I have a long way to go; that is what I keep telling myself. Since I am new at this track stuff I have promised myself I will get better before modding. Plus, another car will show up in a bit. I need to be better for that one. Eventually, suspension bits will show up on the GT4.

Here are the pictures. I can do a write up on install procedures etc. Kind of a pain to get to as the whole side skirt has to come off.
Made out of 308 stainless. Laser cut, laser bent, then hand welded. Same screen style and material as all our screens. Super Beefy

Don't know why the mounted one's image is rotated! Sorry about that.

I'm sure it is something that you can quantify mathematically, we have not done that. Our research showed that 1/4" screen has zero net airflow decrease, and 1/8" has 20% and we made our decision based on that (we use 1/4) We don't think there is a severe reduction in overall airflow, just turbulence is affected of course. We left the IGV's and the factory screens also in place that are up the snorkel from there.
Same screen design as all our radiator screening and temperatures/airflow were never a problem.

Was the rear camer "max" at -1.8 deg because you ran out of threaded stud length for shims?
To anyone that knows, how much camber can one achieve front and rear before you run out of stud length and need to add monoballs just for thread length alone? Thanks.
