See you there! I might consider coming back on Sunday with the GT3, but it doesn't look like they allow for Sunday only...

I got a chance to drive my buddy doborder's GT4 at Thunderhill the other day and matched my best lap time in his car. His car is the identical setup as mine with 2 exceptions:

1) He is running Ferodo DS1.11 and I am currently running endless ME20. After going back to the DS1.11 on his car, the pedal felt firmer and the pedal travel was shorter. Both were nearly identical in terms of braking power. Both are great. Although I wonder if my cracked piston pucks have something to do with the longer pedal travel and softer feel...

2) No DSC unit. To be honest, the cars handled identically, hence the identical lap times. My guess as to why is that the stiffer springs negate some of the benefits of the DSC unit.

Hey Joe, did both your cars have similar alignment settings?

I think your theory of the stiffer springs and DSC is on the right track.....I was about to do the same but recapping some conversations with Tom from TPC I decided against it. How did his car felt on entry and exit compared to yours? Also, how about going over bumps?

FWIW, I will be testing the system same day, same track and report back soon.
Should be before end of April.

My car is stock, how would sway bars affect shocks?
I run full stiff now and like it because the car leans a lot otherwise.

On my GT4, which is a dual purpose car, with DSC + TPC rear toe links + 2.3/2.0 camber + 7mm front spacers I find that middle/middle for the sway bars provides a balanced setup....maybe I could go for full stiff on the rear but may be too much, at least for my driving style. Let us know your results. What I did really noticed with DSC is much less dive on hard braking....

I'm a suspension dummy, so I can't answer that question. Otherwise I would! Lol

If you are on stock springs, I think you will still feel a difference with dsc. Let us know

Any engine mods to doborder's GT4? Sounds like it has a header.

There's some overlap between shocks and sways. They both resist body roll, but in different ways.

Shocks resist dynamic changes in body angle, i.e., body roll velocity. So if you are entering a long corner, with more shock the car won't jerk to a set as much as roll to a set, but the eventual set will be the same no matter what shocks you have (because shocks are not springs).

Sway bars, instead, define what the maximum body roll will be, they oppose the total body roll difference from level and stiffer sways will change what the final set will be, but not how fast you get to your maximum body roll set when entering the corner. Hope that makes sense.

With more shock, sometimes you can run a little less bar because the shock smooths out how the car takes a set. Sometimes less bar is better, but other times you really need stiff sways, it depends.
