How are they on the road and/or track in the wet if you've tried them there? Since at least for now I'm hoping to avoid a set of dedicated track wheels, I have to consider that at least somewhat when choosing a full-time tire. But if they're even reasonable there, I'm looking forward to them being available in stock sizes since I just noticed on Tire Rack that the N0 version of the Cup 2 front size is $472 (a more than 50% markup over the Ferrari spec of the same size!!) compared to $278 for the Bridgestones!
Just picked up set of OZs with re71s. You'll have to help me test them out next time we are at COTA

You know what, I have driven them in the wet. I did a track day at Buttonwillow and then had to drive through the Grapevine when it was POURING rain. If I had been on NT01s I would have been driving like 20-30 mph with the fear of hydroplaning off the road. However, I was able to drive 70+ mph in the rain with no problem at all and not a hint of hydroplaning (the tire only had 11 HCs so plenty of tread remaining...I probably wouldn't try it on 20+ HCs). I've also driven around locally showing houses in the rain and no problems either. Good rain tire.

Could be a newbie question.... but does this change the gearing? Significantly?

Depends on the overall OD you select. If it matches OEM 20s then NO, but if less there will be an effect.

Wow, these really sound like magical tires, lol! It looks like Tire Rack also found wet traction to be good. The only thing they didn't like was that the RE-71R is the loudest tire they've ever tested, but I don't consider the Cup 2s loud (at least not when combined with the other sources of cabin noise in this car), so if they're not ridiculously louder than those, even that shouldn't be an issue for me. Too bad they probably won't be available in the next 1-2 months when I'll need to replace my current set!

Problem is a set set of bbs or forgeline will buy you a couple of sets of tires. I was also able to get my hands on 3 sets of cup2 cheap, so I have them stockpiled right now. Will see what happens in the fall with re71r and then make a decision on 19" at that point

For the record, I hate trofeoR. Way too fussy with pressures, and while the Front tires last longer, the rears on the GT3 will wear out after 2 track days.
Can anyone chime in on track wear of OEM Dunlops compared with the Cup2s?

My experience on the gt3 has been that they perform just as well (maybe a touch better), but wear out faster. The fronts were toast after one day at Laguna seca running in 2 run groups. 10 twenty minute sessions. Whereas the front cup 2s will last 20 sessions.

So far, the wear rate on the cup2 on the gt4 with my car looks to be equivalent to the gt3

The RE-71R is nowhere as noisy as Nitto NT-01's. For me it's a perfect street/track tire. And a 19" set is half the cost of 20" Cup 2's, so it's a no-brainer. A set of 19" OZ wheels will pay for themselves after two sets of tires.

True, unless you get a great deal on a cup2 tires.
If it wasn't for rumors of oem size re71r coming, I would have pulled the trigger. I bought myself some time with the cheap cup2s (just a one time deal) so I can see how things play out before I buy 19".

Can't comment on the cup 2's - but I can say that I'm about 1/2 way through my Dunlop fronts from one day at thermal - 5, 15 min sessions. Jives with @orthojoe commentary.
