The OZ Leggera HLTs in Bright Race Grey are very nice looking. The RE-71R tires are pretty heavy at 30 pounds for a 285/35/19 rear and 27 pounds for a 245/40/19 front. I'll post pics later this weekend when I mount them. I will have them on the track Sunday. The wheels are supposed to be 20 and 22 pounds. Looks like the weights are accurate.

Ok, here's my update...

I ran 2.2 seconds faster (1:56.5 vs 1:58.7) on the same track/configuration as I did with the Cup2s two weeks ago (similar temps too) and ran 8 20-25 minute sessions. Now my Cup2s were cording on the front outters so maybe the difference is closer to 1 second faster. The tires look BEEFY with a lot of tread hence why they are so heavy. The tires seem to get up to optimal temp fairly quickly...1-2 laps. The tires communicate more than the Cup2s and Dunlops and were grippy. I found that over 36 psi the tires started to get greasy and on my 7th+ lap I'd start slipping around a bit. That's probably the only negative about the the time that I could find. All in all, a great tire and one that I will using going forward.

Which 19" wheels and offset? Hopefully with no spacers needed.
Thanks!

19x9 and 9x11 BBS E88s ET50 front n rear. I do need a 5mm spacer for the rear. No rubbing at all on the tires.

USCTrojanGT3 has wider tires and wheels than me. I'm just looking for a good and affordable option for me as I will only occasionally take the GT4 on the track. That said, I went with the OZ Leggera HLTs from tire rack. 19x8.5 ET53 and 19x10 ET40. They seem to fit very well. The set up is slightly lighter than the stock wheels+MPSC2s. 46.4 pounds OZs/RE71R vs 45.8 pounds OEM/60-70% worn MPSC2s in the front and 52.2 pounds OZ/RE71R vs 54.6 pounds OEM/80% worn MPSC2s rears.

I'm looking forward to doing some laps at MSR Cresson tomorrow. If anyone is out there, say hello.

Quick camera phone shot of the car. Just let down from the jacks, so suspension hasn't settled yet.

Ready to put on the GT4

Front RE71R vs MPSC2

Rears. The 285 on 10 inch rims are a little narrower.

Pleasantly surprised that RE71 is faster than MPSC2. Tirerack has them in a "lower" category (Extreme Performance Summer) compared to MPSC2 and OEM Dunlops (Streetable Track & Competition). Anyway, I just replaced AD08Rs with RE71s on my M3 which is my daily. Liking it so far... not too bad in the rain either.

Interesting comment. Have there been any changes to the car like alignment, etc between the tire swap. What influence would there be due to OAT, tire psi, etc.

Did you have them heat cycled by the distributer before mounting?

No changes/mods to the car from the cup2s to the RE71Rs (I ran them within 2 weeks of each other). Temperature was about the same at the track. The front cup2s corded slightly so I was at the end of the tire 2 weeks ago versus running brand new RE71Rs.

I did not heat cycle the tires. From tirerack to the tire shop to my wheels.
