Exclamation RE-71Rs going on soon

Since it's time to replace my tires again, I decided to go with the Bridgestone RE-71Rs. I will be getting them mounted on Monday as I have track days coming up next Friday/Saturday. The set or 4 tires was less than $1,100 (245/40/19 and 285/35/19). I've heard very good thing about the tires (some say they are are a little better than NT01s). I was at the track last weekend and will be going abck to the same track so I'll be able to compare lap times. Can't wait to try them out.

Looking forward to hear your impressions. I take that PSS will be behind the above three as its basically a street tire.

^ lol.

Funnily, I made a spreadsheet this week of all tires available in 19 and 20 for the GT4... surprising how limited the options are, for the various size combos.

Interested to see how the RE71R work out.

4th set of tires already? How many miles on your car now? How many of those are track miles? You running aggressive camber setup?

Looking forward to hearing how the tires worked out.

Tried them on my WRX at Laguna and liked them. Harry's lap timer said 1.0 or 1.1 G in most turns, but 1.2 G in the Andretti hairpin. However, the last time I tracked that car it was on all seasons, so I don't have a proper baseline. Anecdotally they didn't seem as solid/firm/stiff sidewalled as fresh R888s when I drove on those. But maybe they'll be more consistent than R888s to the end.

Mooty: How much faster are R7s than NT01s or Cup 2s around a 2 minute track?

What rims are you using, and what sizes & offsets? Any sign of rubbing? Getting ready to order track wheels soon, but still trying to decide sizes, offsets, brands, etc.

I like your style.

Should be similar to nitto, up until the point where nitto turns into a full slick. RE-71R is the 2016 spec tire for a bunch of us local guys for our "Miata DE Cup". LOL.

As you know, nitto has 235/35-19 and 285/35-19 which will work fine too, shouldn't be any abs issue, because GT car.....

look forward to the report on how they are.

I have not found a single place that actually sells the 285/35 19 NT01. Do you know where they can be found?
