Starke wheels are low-pressure cast method made in China. I'm sure they're fine for daily use or autox but I wouldn't trust my GT4 or life with them on the track. Supposedly they are made in the same factory that makes Vossen and Carlsson wheels but I don't consider either of them track quality wheels either.

You pay for what you get and you get what you pay for...

Makes sense and I agree with safety. They are the only set listed that are 11" wide in rear which was intriguing. Thanks.

Response from Tire Rack, seems if they are listed they are good to fit.

From Archer (awesome service by the way) @ TR:

Eric,

Those will definitely fit according to our team of engineers.

Now sure what you mean. You can get the OZ LEGGERA HLT in 11" rear you need to call Damon or another Tirerack pro and get them to use the 911 rear instead of the regular Cayman fitment.

I meant listed under "GT4" on their website. Will check into that, thanks for the tip!

Sounds like this guy is all about looks, flush fitting and NOT track application.

That would be for C4S rears, but incorrect offset for proper fitment as discussed in the big 19" thread on here. Requires spacers and/or different toelink.

FYI, here is the latest response from TR when I asked about the OZ Leggera 19 x 11. Take it for what it's worth, others may know better:

Subject: RE: GT4 Track wheels

Here is what my guys came back with," It’s a hair aggressive, but the real issue is the drop center on the inboard side is only 1 mm away from the rear suspension. That's way too close to clear under full movement of the suspension travel. We would not guarantee that will fit. We checked the 19x11 et50 also and that hits the rear suspension. 19x10 et40 is the best and only rear fitment available."

I have them (exact same sizes) for my winter set. The fit is fine with no conflicts, although I have no knowledge what would happens on a track under high loads since the fronts are pushed out 9mm.

The wheels are finished decently, especially for the price, but some edges are a bit rough. They look nice on the car. They are made in Taiwan, FWIW.

The Starkes have been fine for my winter use, but for a few bucks more I'd buy OZ for track use. I think they are higher quality.

Thanks Dan, will probably go for OZ due to the track use and recommendations.

BTW, 19x10" wide rears have worked well for others here which adds a few more wheel choices.

Yeah, that seems like the best choice and tire rack confirmed 295 wide is ok on 10"

I ended up with the third overall top time of day, and the second best indexed time. The top time of the day was a 991 GT3 on Hoosier R7s, and he only beat me by 0.87 seconds.
As the aforementioned GT3 driver at this event, I have to say that you had a phenomenal drive on a very challenging course in your GTS, Jack. Well done! That said, I don't think I got everything I might have out of the R7's. It was my first time on those tires after a season running the stock MPSC2's, and I was also experimenting very broadly with pressures, as there is a lot of conflicting info out there on what is ideal, from the Hoosier recommendation of 38-40 PSI to the anecdotal evidence from other Rennlist users that much lower pressures work best. This particular set of tires came on the used 19" Finspeed rims I bought with a reported 12 heat cycles on them from the PO, so they were far from fresh, but suited my immediate goal of checking the fitment and experimenting with pressures. I made some mistakes on every one of my runs trying to feel them out through the various pressure ranges, and never really had a "golden" run like you did. I think I left a second or so out there on the course, but I did figure out that lower pressures were better, at least for autocross on the R7 compound, since it helped get more heat in the tire quicker and enhance grip, and they were definitely faster than the MPSC2's with similar heat cycles.

I can't wait for Hoosier to make an A7 in the GT3 sizes, which is supposed to happen this summer, but if Bridgestone gets the RE-71R out in the larger sizes as well, there is no doubt in my mind that I will use them instead, seeing the performance you and others are getting out of them for the price point.

Good job!
TT

I don't believe the RE71R comes in a 295, but reportedly the 285 works well on the GT4 and may also effectively reduce understeer.

And fits even better on a 10" rim...

You're right, I anticipated them maybe coming out with a 295 in the future. Good point, from earlier posts in this thread, it does sound like 285 may be a better choice anyways.
