i have two west coast Spyder owners that are running this config but they also are running the intake upgrade. The 4.0L X51 Boxster Spyder we did last summer that lives in LA also has this exhaust setup. I have the same exhaust config on my car and the consensus is that everyone likes this sound the best AND enjoys being able to quiet it down with the button. From inside the car the sound is unreal; from outside the car it's very loud and quite addicting. If you do the tune and the exhaust work you can get around 415 hp at the crank. To reach the 430 number you need the intake mods in the form of the plenum, throttle body and filters.

For sure not lol. Still in the doghouse a bit for buying the CR two weeks before we got married last year, definitely worth it although I should have bought a cheap 987 with a blown engine and sent it to John for a badass 3.8L. He reminds me about that every now and then haha

Hindsight is always a good thing...
No regrets, the CR is an awesome machine, my wife threatened to divorce me when i put the deposit on the GT4, but all turned out ok

It is with mixed emotions that I have decided to put the GT4 up for sale. In order for me to acquire the majority stake of the business i need to find some liquidity and therefore the car needs a new home:
2016 Cayman GT4 - White with Black Interior - 12K Miles
FACTORY OPTIONS:
- Wheels Painted in Black
- Wing Supports in Black
- Fire Extinguisher
- Center Console Trim Painted
- PCM
- Porsche Sport Bucket Seats
- Interior Package Painted
- Black Leather Dash with Grey Stitching
- Extended Range Fuel Tank (this is what it says on the Certificate of Authenticity and this is what i ordered but i think that somewhere i got the small tank because it does NOT take 16.5 gal when i run it down to the bottom.)
AFTERMARKET OPTIONS:
- BGB Motorsports Stage I & II Upgrades (Consists of Cargraphic Longtube Stainless Steel Race Manifolds, BMC Air Filters, Cobb 991 GTS/X51 Conversion File, 991 X51 Intake Manifold, 991 X51 Intake Cams & 991 X51 Cylinder Heads and Aasco Stage III Race Clutch Kit)
- DSC Sport PASM Controller
- 15mm Front Wheel Spacers
- MSI Racing Products Wheel Studs
- Window Tint FR/R
OE REPLACEMENT PARTS:
- OE Front Brake Pads (2500 miles ago)
- OE Front Brake Discs (2500 miles ago)
- Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s (1000 miles ago)
Thank you all for the support over the last 2 years on this project. We will still continue our GT4 development work. We are about to do our 5th 4.0L X51 upgrade to a 981. These parts that you've read about have been in use on the race track and on the street for the last year. Everyone loves their cars thus far! As for my car, you have all seen the dyno numbers and you have all been privy to the project. I figured that i would own this car forever or until they pried it out of my cold dead hands but in order for us to grow, she has to go. If you know someone looking for a GT4 that would also have an upgrade path in mind, please pass this info along.

It was great to meet you and your crew at Monticello at the PCA club race. You have a very impressive outfit, and I wish you all the best in your new role. I'm sure that you're sorry to contemplate the sale of the GT4, and one that you have done so much with, but these opportunities are rare and far between. Best of luck!

X51 on the GT4 is an awesome combo, someone needs to buy this! Just the X51 box of parts alone is 13k+ before installation, tuning etc and it makes a huge difference. With the 4l X51 I was pulling on F80 M3s down the straights at LRP this week and not losing too much ground to the GT350s. Plus, it sounds awesome ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Hello friends!
I've just installed my fab speed sport headers, ipd plenum and Cobb OTS stage 2 91 OTS, waiting for my protune to be OK. I'd like to know, for those who went for the same set up, if their feedback were the same.
Yesterday only performance parts were installed. So I ran the car with stock ECU which already gave 395hp
. This way I felt the car really beast !! Sound is great and the throttle response felt literally more brutal! Not enough time to drive yesterday then today I went out for a ride. First, I got default engine light, so why not use my accesport and install it by the way to remove this annoying light?
I followed wed instructions and everything was ok.
Afterall i told myself what about going for stage 2 OTS map provided by Cobb? Very easy to install ( I hope my stock map were saved at the same time), I went for another ride. Surprisingly I felt the car much less brutal than with the stock map. Very linear , and softer in the low range RPM. Under 4000 rpm, things are less exciting than my yesterday experience. In high rpm ok it screams like hell :O.
Do do you think it's normal? I'm actually aware that a fine protune will give me the perfect adjustment but do you think in the meantime I should go back for stock map?
Can an you confirm that the uninstalling process reset my personal stock ECU ?
thanks a lot and I wish all of you a merry Christmas !!!

I have experienced the same thing although I run minus the headers. I believe this is an illusion due to the cobb eliminating the torque dip in the mid range so the the linear increase makes it seem less dramatic. What i would say is that the adaptation has been reset so you need to give it mininmum 200 miles before things get on track and it keeps on improving for a good few miles after that. You have not lost your stock map but the adaptions will reset so need to reestablish again so don't expect it to feel the exact same as it did when you took it off but it will get there.

Hi friends! Back again on this topic because it had some discussions around DTC codes reading with COBB AP. I can now enjoy my Protune, and wawww this is another car. throttle response is way smoother than with the "generic" map. However I'm running trough CEL lights on my dashboard. COBB reads P0068 and P1074 codes. Although I cleared them, they're back again.
I read on other forums that I had to drive and drive again till it definitely disappear, but I drive the car only 2 or 3 times a week for short distances (but damn good). should I expect the protune to clean these codes properly? If driving for adaptation is the only way to go, am I supposed to clean DTC codes everytime I drive the car until it goes off forever?
thanks guys, I hate those lights on the dashboard, even if it's no big hurt for the car...

Both codes are related Mass Air Flow readings...this could happen when you upgrade to the IPD / GT3 TB.
You shouldn't be getting any CELs if the COBB Tune is setup correctly. You may get codes stored from time to time but the COBB will not allow them to show a CEL or activate any failsafe.
Maybe John or Wray, from BGB, can chime in on this as they do have a lot of experience with Codes and upgrades on the 981/991 platform.

Thank you for this answer. I was wondering if the cobb protune had to remove this normally or if this is about any other mechanical issues. So I'm waiting for Fabspeed feedback, a mail was sent about this. I'll try to post curves measures ASAP when everything is OK.
