Guys this has been shown to be mechanical as the Cobb tune has been removed on one of the cars with the issue and it still persisted. While we will look into this issue please do not confuse this as being a Cobb issue. As with the codes for the plenum/TB this is not due to the tune but we will do what we can to solve the issues presented with modifications.

Thanks,

-Mitch

It's definitely not a COBB issue, it's a 82mm TB issue with the OEM software. Until the TB can be tweaked in software, it's a problem. Currently no software providers can tweak what needs to be tweaked.

Thought that should all be tweak able with the cobb? I guess the entire ecu isn't cracked?

We have access to the entire ECU so the the entire ECU is "cracked". The difference lies in the tables we've exposed for tuning access. Rarely, if ever, does a car need every single table exposed and some cars require more, some require less. As more development is needed, we expose additional tables which allows them to not only be adjusted via AccessTuner, but also logged via the AP, including datalogging channels that are only ECU calculated.

Thanks!

Thanks Mitch and Jared.
I'll need a COBB tune with the appropriate table(s) exposed to solve the issue if/when it occurs after installing the IPD plenum and 82mm TB in a few weeks.

i thought others had already installed the tb and plenum without a tune successfully just the piwi tool adjustment.. maybe my memory misleads me.

From what I understand some cars throw a code and some don't. Some cars you can just install the plenum and tb and drive straight off with no time or tb adaptation and they don't throw a code. Some cars will throw a code and a tb adaptation is required with a piwis even then it may still throw a code and multiple tb adaptations may be required.

That's a different issue. Don't assume you know what the problem is - go back and read my message. Cobb will get it figured out, they are completely aware of what the car is doing, they just need some time to change throttle maps they typically never touch. Its an issue that 90% of us will probably not even notice - unless you doing high-rpm downshifts, or revving the snot out of it in your garage (not a good idea). Everyone is being very professional and are highly committed to getting it figured out. We are lucky to get this intensity of support from these vendors.

It is obviously a software/hardware setup issue.

With a car like the GT4 driven hard on track and with the aforementioned modification, it will most likely demand a custom ECU tuning on the track.

Mitch,

Great to see you guys all over and on top of this. There is no better Customer Service than jumping on this forum to give an update and keep every one in the loop. Cobb is new to me and I am waiting for the my GT4 to arrive next month and have been weighing what direction I will be headed with my Mods. You have certainly won over a fan/critic over here.

Thanks

both Fabspeed and BGB have reached out to help as well. It's like a family... John G at fabspeed is an animal with customer service, he's gone WAAAY beyond what I'd expect.

i must've somehow skipped this post shake, you're right, and i believe steve over at fabspeed was talking about this with a customer and what the car does off throttle, hopefuly with cobb and steve and the other tuners out there this will be sorted shortly.

Why thank you Jacy, that is much appreciated haha. Steve and myself are certainly doing our best to assist in any way we can. Slowly but surely making our way with Cobb to a solution

Gotta love how a thread BGB started has been taken over by Fabspeed.
