That is indeed scary. On a back road, with out the safety margin of a track, you will probably be flying into on coming traffic or off a cliff.

So you saw the same behaviour even with the stock tune? Is it possible there is a defective batch of TBs that is getting stuck open?

I'm hoping our favorite tuner can fix the issues, but as of now anyone putting a 82mm TB on a GT4 is going to face the issue, tuned or not. I'm sort of poking at the system by posting this, hoping that between IPD, the vendor community, and our favorite tuner, the motivation can be found to solve it. it's odd that I'm the first to experience the issue....
John from Fabspeed mentioned a 50% chance of CEL while the TB self adjusts.
Was a TB adaptation done with PIWIS at a dealer to attempt to clear the hang?

Yes, there are actually several calibrations and adaptations that need to occur via a piwis, not just a TB (which supposedly is actually automatic). The issue is not just a cel - the cel is actually benign, it's the off throttle mapping that gets messed up.

I, too, am surprised to learn of this problem. I'm curious to know what it is, specifically, about this engine or ecu that is causing it.

I was set on doing the COBB before TB and Plenum but now I'm going to hold in case the ECU swap is the only way to get the whole package working. Wonder what COBB's and Fabspeed input on this would be as they are offering their GT450 package and a few people have done the mods.

Thought the problem was with the throttle bodies not the plenum? The gt450 doesn't include the throttle bodies I thought?

The TB is part of the Fabspeed package......looks like any serious HP/TQ numbers require the TB.

Only if your brakes fail at the same time. The brakes on even an economy car (never mind a GT4's binders) will easily overpower an engine stuck at WOT.

I've asked John @ Fabspeed to chime in on this issue. I've been talking with him recently and have several of the intake parts on order with him, so I'm very interested to see what's going on.

Was looking at the 450 kit myself and after reading this and watching that video OMG, think I will stay siting on the fence for now as would be very unhappy with my car doing that when it felt like it

This makes no sense though.. This has to be a mechanical issue, like a defective throttle body.. Nothing to do with DMS or electronics..
I'm here and reviewing all the info. This is quite unusual and not something we have experienced. Will be speaking with our tuner Steve and seeing what we can come up with. Wish we had one here in person that was having this issue...as terrible as that sounds haha

This is deja vu all over again and takes me back to 2013 when 9x1 tuning started.

Change fuel/air inputs with different throttle body/plenum and you need a proper tune to remap to the new conditions.

Porsche gave owners a matched set of components and tune, you mess with one element and you need to fix the other. No conspiracy, #nogate

Glad to hear the Fabspeed package isn't having this issue. GT450 is the way to go guys
