981 Spyder!!!!

The Spyder seemed slightly better balanced to me stock. It does understeer slightly, but the rear comes into play sooner and it's more adjustable. The GT4 understeers more stock, then with swaybars set full soft front, full stiff rear it's quite neutral (depending on tire temps, etc) but the balance seems less consistent- in certain on-road situations on lift throttle it rotates sooner than it should.
Steering I think the Spyder feels lighter than the GT4 (lighter than I'd prefer), but the quicker rack on center is nice to have. Close, but the nod goes to the GT4 overall.
Rear end stability depends on the bar settings, tire temps, etc- the GT4 is more sensitive to temps and pressures. The GT4 can be too stable imho (stock bar settings) but it gets less consistent when you play with bars, particularly over uneven/ off camber/ undulating pavement.
This is based on a few hours in the Spyder vs a few thousand miles in my GT4.

Depends how you'll use it. IMHO the Spyder is a very special car on the street if you can live with the compromises. Used as a mostly weekend car with no track aspirations I'd trade my GT4 for one, but it's partly personal preference. I prefer an adjustable car to a limpet, and I find the GT4 grippy for its power.

I confirmed this with the dealer before ordering. I didn't want that crap on when in track mode, otherwise I would not have ordered the car. However the auto-blip is perfect for my wife when she drives it in normal conditions. I tried for 30 years to get her feet coordinated with the heel/toe concept. Hopeless

This is my first roadster and coming from a 991 Carrera S this thing is AMAZING! It feels so alive compared to the 991. I drove with the top down in 55 degrees today with the windows up and wind deflector and it was awesome. The PSE sounds even better than my 991's. I am in love with this car, what a special package this thing is. More pics soon I promise. GT Silver is amazing in the sunlight.
