Is it true it is quicker than the Cayman GT4 despite having slight less power because it is lighter?

Default 981 Spyder!!!!

He's really a terrible presenter... Repetitive; same words, predictable outcomes.. But guess it's nice to hear that he likes it. Wasn't clear if he meant that it's better than gt4 or not, but for the road, an open roof car with a bigger engine and slightly softer suspension is hard not to like.

Not according to Porsche specs,

GT4 .1 sec faster 0-60
GT4 .1 sec faster 0-62
GT4 3 MPH faster top speed

of course the differences are very small.

i'm not clear on whether the steering rack, being from 911 turbo is faster or not? also, is the ratio different from the one on the gt4?

10% shorter steering rack compared to the Boxster GTS.

Ditto- GT4 shares the regular Boxster/ Cayman rack ratio.

interesting... so they gave the spyder a tighter rack than the gt4... can you offer your insights as to why that would be? i find it very exciting as shorter lock to lock is great in my book.. but why wouldn't they add it to the gt4 also?

legend has it that quicker steering was a requirement for certain Colorado canyons...and at least on a fair amount of tracks not required.

so..let me get this straight... compared to GT4 we have,

open roof, slightly better ground clearance, faster rack, more compliant but still performing suspension, lower center of gravity, same engine... should I go on?.... GGGGGGGGGAAAAAAAAAAAYYEEEEEEEPPPPPPEEEEE!!!!!!!
