When SBM was withdrawn I asked about another blue in PTS and was told there is no plan yet for PTS on the 981 Spyder... might not happen until mid-year or later. With SBM back I'm ok to take a standard color.

Ditto. I was really bummed when SBM was withdrawn, glad it's back!

The interior of the roof is kind of a joke with the shoe string straps.

Well.. it's certainly minimalist.
Wish they would have covered that up

agreed, there should be a difference between minimalist and haphazard
The silver looks even more appealing than the CWM, looks great!

I'll be curious to get your impressions when you finally get the new one. Bigger question, will you buy a fifth 987 Spyder?

In the .2 there is none of this nonsense. Here in Canada, .2 Spyder prices are rising...

It's hard for me to see "minimalist" when I see a full-leather dashboard ...

That being said, I don't think I'd care what the inside of the roof looked like, as long as it worked right. Who looks at the inside of the roof while they're driving?

Lol. Not sure how a full leather dash got in the roof..

You are correct - the roof is functional, that's all that really matters in the end. It's just odd that they left it that way.

been absent for a bit due to the phone app not working, so i may have missed the answer to this question... has anyone been able to confirm whether the rear portion of the roof can be unzipped so that the car can be driven with just the "bikini" style top like on the original spyder?

there was a picture of the rear of the roof attaching with clasps or zippers to bulkhead recently, and this had been part of the speculation. apology if this has been answered, again, I'm out of date on the forum without the phone app working anymore.

thanks.

Looks like all one piece, no zippers or bikini.

I like the idea of the updated roof, should make the car better for those using it as a daily driver compared to the previous one.

Not sure if this is true but I've heard that Spyder allocations have been reduced. Only 918 buyers will have the option to buy and the car will be numbered (1/XXX). Apparently this change came through today.

Anyone else heard this?

I can tell you that is definitively false. My SA called me today that my allocation was available. I most definitely am not a 918 owner. :-)
