Actually the Cayman GT4 is a limited edition Eduardo....as is evidenced by the fact you cannot get an extra allocation when doing European delivery and what the dealers were told as far as the amount being built per year which is less than the GT3. If you want one of these cars guys call your dealer....not me as we are sold out already for both model years....hopefully the 918 guys are not going to snap up 297 of the GT4 slots as that will leave exactly 303 this year for everyone else.... Also no PTS either....due to the wing....
Brett, can you tell us how many allocations did you received?
Pay attention to what AP says about the 'new' rear suspension pieces. I think this will prove to be one of the greatest improvements to date on the Cayman/Boxster platform...and might be 'epic'!
No, it's not 'Acid Green'. It's 'gt3' yellow!
Yes, first time we see it on the 981 or 991, although it should be the new option 'SportDesign' steering wheel coming up on the 991.2 face lift so we will see more of it in all 991's pretty soon - and probably regular 981's too!
It's also great to see no CL wheel on the gt4. And the five bolt design wheel is similar to the 991 gt3 wheel...and will be the envy of many current 991 gt3 owners that would have preferred to forgo of the maintenance-intensive Center Locking wheels they got on their gt model!
Also note that we don't expect the Cayman 981 to be face lifted until MY2017. This allows buyers of the GT4 later this Spring some depreciation 'relief', since they are not going to see the facelift for another 1 1/2 years!
Brett, was this the same situation with the 991 GT3 as well?
Correct..If we ordered a Euro delivery 991 810 we got back a Turbo or Turbo S allocation instead...we get a Cayman GTS back for the Cayman GT4...it is a limited edition model with only approx 1200 due over 2 model years....

All of the 918 Spyder owners are getting the first bite out of the 600 slots....we will not know how many we get until they are finished gobbling them up.....We should get 6 this year and 6 next year...but the 918 Spyder situation makes that unknown at present....

Wow, at this rate the GT4 will be sold out before the first car makes it to the US... My dealer has 11 on the list as of yesterday!
Maybe. I'd have the sell the spyder, which I never thought I would do. I can't decide!
I hear ya. I too thought the spyder would be a long time resident, but the gt4 is just so tempting! In all honesty, a pts, 'unique to me' gt4 would push over the edge to yes territory, but otherwise I still am no where close to mastering the limits of my spyder as you are with yours...and I love the convertible here in California.
Ultimately if I miss out on this gt4 there is always the 997.2 gt3, or maybe even the 997 gt3rs.
Then again, I know when I see the first reviews, especially from some of the respected testers, I will be salivating over one :-)

So if you put In a request for no painted wing they could do PTS? I don't mind Carbon fiber wing with no paint! Confused?

Guys, relax. The same hysteria happened with the 991 GT3. Everyone who REALLY wants one will get one. Half of the people with deposits won't follow through. That list of 11 is probably 5 at best. If you want the FIRST one, then you should panic. Otherwise, you'll eventually get one. It just might not be this year if you're not on a list yet.

Yeah, the one thing holding me back is the 'open top' experience, but I rarely use the spyder other than on track.... A peridot green or birch green GT4 would be cool...

I feel like this is even more so true because it is only being offered with a manual for now.
